I think you are right with testing the waters, but also I think KT is probably trying to establish some kind of relationship with GOM at the very least to perhaps form at least the business outlines of maybe an extension of Rolster in SC2? Like a sub team where players can stay on Rolster but still test the water themselves without leaving the team if they so desire(i.e. money maker Flash)? Unlike a lot of former BW players who had to join new teams or something. I could be wrong but this would be awesome.

It's interesting that we're seeing middlish-size maps, now. That's a good thing, because it makes it more likely Blizz will add them to the Ladder Pool....in like 6 months, but whatev. Hopin'!

Beyond that, I'm glad to see middlish sized maps because it keeps the map pool diverse. One of my pet peeves of Brood War is that a lot of the maps feel a little same-y, so I like that a game one Tal'Dairm will likely be significantly different from a game on Xel'Naga Fortress. Since Zerg have been having issues on the little Steppes maps and Big Tal'Darim maps, maybe the new maps will be in the "just right" zone.

I think Typhon is Blizzard's best map, so I'm glad to see it getting some love, even if I'm curious how Z will handle vertical position at a pro level.

I know Shakuras isn't in the ladder anymore, but I'm baffled to see it go and Metal stay. I don't see a reason to pick Metal over Shattered Temple.

Is GOM going to roll out three new maps into the GSL pool every GSTL? That'd be pretty baller.

I like dual sight, I find the Xel'Naga themed maps ugly in general and seeing Xel'Naga Caverns in all the cups again and again and ag... made me really tired, so I generally dislike maps with that color. Might be a good map though. Typhon Peaks is just... hurtful. Incredibly ugly and a horrible map in general in my opinion.

I love the 3 player map dynamics. Still rushable, but not blindly rushable. Xelnaga Fortress also has a very peculiar 3rd expansion (4th base) as it looks to have close flying positions to another "main".

GSL has the best players and the best maps. Therefore, I can only support every decision they make. I hope the NASL also keep up and use decent maps. MLG should also change their mappool a bit, I love all the restrictions they made on their mappool but it would be better to simply use good maps.
