Both these players have not accomplished much (anything) and have not been showing good games consistently. r u kidding me? Cruncher just won the last couple showmatches sponsored by complexity (still the king as well) and just won one of the TLOpens qualifying for TSL3 > Fenix. Seems pretty consistant to me. What evidence do you have to support your claim o.O As far as Haypro goes i can kinda see how you might say that as he hasn't quite performed well at GSL. However he is definitely a top player on a top team but hasn't been able to shine quite yet as much as the other liquid members. I do think he is a good choice for nasl tho.

Remember NASL guys are looking at results :D I"m looking at his team liquid profile right now, justin tv win and a showmatch win/loss. Not to mention he got slaughtered by TLO last week.. Don't get me wrong, I think catz is a great player and a good guy, but out of who has been selected so far he's my weakest link.

There arent there many big names that are North American when it comes to teams Korea is obvious, ST, Slayers, OGS, etc Europe has a some pretty big ones: TeamLiquid , Mouz, etc American have EG, but only Idra made a name for himself. ROOT and complexity while good, havent made a global splash like the other teams mentioned above. If you asked a Korean, they would know about Team Liquid or Idra, but probably wouldnt know about ROOT as an example.

I think small is a bad word here. Let me rephrase as the North American scene is lacking by far in global accomplishments. I think QXC could be an elite player like idra if he only focused on sc2 (yes I know he's very good now, but I think he has untapped potential), but I see what your point is. There really isn't too many tip top american players.

I expected a little bit more than just a list on the website with the players when they'd get announced, especially with the whole "5 players per day" format. Maybe I've just been spoiled by how TSL3 has been produced and presented, but I kind of expected something similar to that, with a bit of information to go with each player as to what they've done or why they've been invited. Yeah, especially since they announced a new level of production and stories around the games. What do they have the application videos for? I cant help it, but the whole thing seems a bit amateurish to me. Nothing wrong that really, but when big words are used for the hype they need to be followed by actions, otherwise people will be disappointed. Well, it might all be coming. We'll see. They don't have it easy, the TSL truly set a high standard.

Is the 11th ranked player positioned just like the 30th player or will it be like gsl up and down matches where rank winner of 21-30 fight rank 16-20 which winner will play rank 11-15 for the 5 spots ? Presonally as a spectater i guess i prefer the more simple solution, but when rank 3 is worth as much as rank 6 then some matches will be pointless for the players ( at the end of group phase).

Who did he play against in these showmatches? He has one win in TL open. Maybe he got lucky. TL open is not even considered as a more important tournament. We will see how he does against Idra and others in TSL3 now. As for Haypro, he really didn't show anything yet. Being on team liquid does not automatically make him a good player. I am almost sure that if he didn't get a free spot in Code A this season he would not have passed the qualifiers. He showed the weakest play in Code A, and also watching his stream it is clear his mechanics are not good enough when compared with players like Idra or Sen or Ret (not to mention all the good Korean Zergs). So far I consider two of them the weakest links for NASL. They will really need to prove they belong there.

He beat Sjow, PainUser and LzGamer in Best of 7 showmatches within the last month(None of them even close i believe all were 4-1 in cruncher's favor). Before these showmatches he won the TLOpen vs Fenix(also an invite to nasl) which was pretty onesided, i believe 3-0. How can you say he is not a good contender? This guy is on fire.

Btw - Idra called Nestea a noob before Nestea rocked the GSL (and Idra changed his mind) ![]() Will Cruncher deliver? No one knows. But if he does there is a lot of backstory. It's one of the wildcards for NASL. If he sucks, no one really cares (because he surely doesnt take the spot of a high caliber player). If he doesnt - the drama will bring a lot of viewers/tension ![]() On March 23 2011 07:29 Gatsbi wrote: Who are Darkforce and Cruncher? ![]() If you are looking for "world-class production quality", that should include how you release the selected players. Five per day is great. This is the biggest opportunity to promote the league before it starts. Just sticking the names in an HTML table at the bottom of the NASL website is kinda lame. I was expecting video clips of each player. At least, you should include the race and country of each player invited.
