Why are the points i gain now not going to stay when i get promoted to gold? I'm playing against bronze levels already You mean instead of UsedPool + 73? I honestly think it's fair, not all your games are against golds, so it shouldn't reward all your points to the new league. I think the 73 is considered very carefully, we just have to trust blizzard on that. Since most players aren't keeping up with the bonus pool (not even in diamond) you'll end up #20-30 depending on the activity of the division when you promote. I think that's a nice trade for you, going from top Bronze top Mid Gold. Besides, if you indeed improved that much it's really a short way up to top gold.

I asked a lot of people whether they promoted in the last few days. Everyone told me "No". I am in platinum now and only playing against high diamond or low/mid masters players and winning like 70-80% of my games....for 2 weeks now. But no promotion. Once i played with my other account i started in bronze and rushed towards diamond. Spend just one single day in platinum..now i already spent 2 weeks...there is something strange going on in bnet. It really sucks to still be in platinum and already play against masters opponents.

In the past the system would wait for you to stabalize before it placed you within a league, but apparently it isn't doin that anymore. My question about that though is, if you are placed into a league once your MMR reaches the league threshold then wouldn't you always be placed in the lowest tier division, since your MMR just creeped up into the lowest tier threshold? With a story like yours it seems clear that there is something a little more complicated going on still.

With a story like yours it seems clear that there is something a little more complicated going on still. It still has to stabilize within a tier. The difference from the old system is that if you're outperforming a league, instead of skipping a league you just get moved into the highest tier of that league before moving into the league above it. When I was following Chrono's match history, who went undefeated to get into Diamond, he was facing Master players which meant he was pretty solidly in the Master MMR region, but he was still in Plat at the time so he got moved into the top Diamond tier for a few games. Once he won a little bit more he got moved into Master.

I played again this afternoon and I'm getting more losses, but I'm still getting enough wins and I'm climbing up. I'm even facing master league players that are in the top 25 of their division where it says I'm slightly favored. When am I going to get promoted? Seriously though, this is a very good resource for people who are unsure about how exactly the ladder system works. Keep being awesome =D

Two weeks ago I promoted to diamond. Then I lost 17 games in row (in only 2-3 hours when I was too focused on winning and really playing bad) I was demoted back to Platinum. I shouldn't have messed up like that, but I know my general mistake and I fixed it. Since then I'm doing greatly. According to SCRanks I'm #500 Platinum in Europe. In my last 50 games my record is 33-17, 67% ratio, and my rating is Pool+236 (with 34 still in the pool). This is way better than the last time I promoted, and I needed a lot less games. Also, last time I got to diamond I was facing low diamonds before I promoted. This time I'm facing and beating mid & high diamonds. I'm very surprised that the #1 in my league went up to 1163 points in two days, hardly losing a single game. And still being stuck in platinum. The season pool is at 649 as I'm writing this. So he almost outdoubled his pool. Can't be right. I made a tech-support post: http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/2123513718#1 Please support it by adding your experience so blizzard doesn't confuses it for a whinethread of a ignorant player (as the forum is spammed with as we all know)

I was high diamond for season 1; season 2 i started crushing diamonds and i guess my MMR went up enough and started playing masters; finally started beating low/mid masters a lot and i mean going like 20-3; then i finally got matched against a top 10 masters and lost; then a top 25 masters and won and got promoted.

What a high diamond should really be is someone who uses up all his bonus pool but has more points than others who have spent up their bonus pool.

My friends were playing 3v3 and they told me they got into gold in 5 placement matches without winning a single game and that this is their first time playing 3s together as that specific team. Makes me think that blizzard only counts individual ratings even in premade teams. Here's the team: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/2596832/1/Elvis/ladder/46418#current-rank

Usually in a 24 hour period you'll get 20-40 promotions/demotions when I ran it for season 1. I just ran a 12 hr period to see how many people got promoted/demoted in that time frame. The result? Zero. Every single person who was no longer in the top 500 was still in diamond. Now, there is some possibility that there is a bug in my code somewhere, but I did some spot checking and it all appeared to check out.
