+ Show Spoiler +Hope I posted this in the right place ^_^
Been away from home for a while, and finally got back to my new computer and loaded up the new patch. With the implementation of custom hot keys, I had one question that I couldnt figure out my self.
Is there any way to make "w" select all baracks, in the same way that it is for select all warp gates.
Thanks! Quas
update. apparently there is no way to do so... Thanks killerdog

no, just hotkey them to a number. its the only way.

you can make your "w" key act like number 0 (or any other number you wont be using for other control groups), then you press ctrl + w with all your barracks selected, and its done =)

No, the only reason there is a "select all warpgates" button is because of how difficult it can be to use them without control groups. Hatches and Rax do not have the same problem.

I fail to see how warpgates are "harder" to use without control groups than barracks or hatcheries...

It's not like you can hotkey a pylon or anything...
I'd much prefer the ability of being able to select all structures of a certain type for faster hotkeying.

There not. I use grid hotkeys and Y for warpgates was too far away. I would just control group my gates to 4. Now with the new change i just made 4 my warpgate button.
All 3 are the same in the end, its not really worth debating about. Toss just gets an extra 2 seconds where they dont have to hit ctl + x, but its not game breaking in the slightest.

Why do Warpgates get hotkeys and not other structures and such? Just a general question.

I think the idea behind it was so toss wouldnt have to use 2 control groups for making units the most efficient way. That being control grouping your forward pylon, and then hitting the warpgate button to make the units. If it were just rally to location i doubt they would have even thought of putting it in.

The UI is imba!
I think it's silly, and I'd like it if you could hotkey a unit type. You have no idea how often I accidentally had a sentry in my phoenix group which did a guardian shield at the other side of the map or complained about not enough energy while I was trying to lift those damned immortals owning my stalkers.

Why can zerg and terran make units and have them rallied to your main army without looking away at another screen?
This is not an option for protoss with warpgates so in essence it makes more sense for them to have that built-in hotkey. Besides it really is obsolete now with hotkey customization.
