this format is fun, u really cant say a BO3 single elimination is better than this... ofcoz, a BO3 double elimination is more fair for all players but this GSL format is also quite nice imo

Well Im happy they advanced. Even if they lose in the ro16 they will still be in Code S and thats great.

At least we have boxer/tester on Shakuras, that's gonna be interesting. Ro8 is bo3 single elimination; so we will have to wait.. Will Tester exploit the hidden pylon bug on Shakuras??? (unless they removed it which i dont think they did?)

Best options from the ladder pool.

IdrA v Clide on xel naga. Win -> play again on xel naga. Lose -> play on scrap station. If he plays on xel naga as his second map, he's playing with a 1-0 lead and will secure a place in the top eight if he wins again. If he loses against clide, he gets his favorite map (scrap station) to bounce back to 1-1. The tie breaker matches, if there are any, are meta and scrap station. There is no reason for him to lose two out of three with such maps.

Jinro's group is much harder. I'd predict MC easily getting first in the group. As for the second in the group, that one's too hard to call.

It gives more variety to the matchups and allows more players to play against each other before they get eliminated. I feel the same way. The group play is still essentially a best of 3 but against different players which makes it more exciting. Same logic applies in a Bo3, first to win 2 advances, first to lose 2 eliminated.

This makes me curious if 1. They removed those maps from Code S and 2. The fourth map is Jungle Basin OR 3. some of those maps were vetoed and the rest were not picked by chance. They didn't list the map vetoes, so it's hard to tell. They also didn't remove them from Code A, so it would be odd to remove them from one league and not the other. Maybe because Code A is bo3, and Code S is bo1, so those maps wouldn't make as much difference in Code A.
