So did HongUnPrime in his game vs Fruitdealer where he made a brilliant wall in his base to buy time for his VRs to save him the game.
Just look for the thread "Pimpest plays" of Sc2 or something like that, it's there, the "Hongun Wall" game
pimpest plays?... this has been done millions of times in broodwar... they just tried in sc2 and wala! it worked..now people making videos and pimpest plays on it? sheesh sc2 people

Not everyone has played BW. Newcomers need to learn tricks as well.
This trick is as old as... this is the oldest trick in the book lol, have u guys ever played the BW map "monte hall"? You basically NEED this trick to scout lol

The "pimpest play" being referred to isn't the probe being pushed through, but the fact that HongUn managed to hold off a rush, having no units, for quite a while by continually building structures further and further back. While, yes, this may be possible in brood war too, it was pretty awesome to watch. Less sc2 hate please.
On topic - I saw this in the choya game, and was wondering how he did this. Thanks!

You're talking about a different play. ^______^;;
No, pretty sure he used the probe pushed through trick in the same game (I may have to re-watch and check though) - my point was that using probe pushed through wasn't what was special about the game.
aww there was no need to change the ramp via a patch. Blizzard should have watched some of the newer bw maps, where people added doodads above the ramp so you need more buildings to wall off and there was more room for melee units to attack this wall. Would have been better in my opinion. Since it would be easier to place a little doodad at the starting location to prevent a 2 building wall in there. Now people will need to edit the ramps back if they want to make the maps a bit more toss terran favored.
Well in bw the bug was okay since it worked for all 3 races, atleast through mineral patches. Well terran could land barracks and squeeze alot of units through a mineral patch or i think spidermines worked as well. I think now only toss could do it and maybe terran with a bit of scw movement luck.
I thought this was common knowledge, otherwise I would have posted it, too. I used this alot in PvZ when I had Steppes not voted down. On shakuras it can be very good when you open forge first and your oponent hatches first. This way you can get a probe in to scout what he is doing. Is he droning, is he expanding at the back? Is he trying to blingbust? With the information you get by sending a probe in this way you can easily counter everything while expanding and outmacroing :p
EDIT: In bw this was also very common. Some map layouts were made so that you needed the trick to scout or rush your opponent.
I think they are fixing it in this upcoming patch..they are changing it to where to completely block off you would need 3 pylons so 300 mineral investment plus the 150 for cannon. honestly though 2 zealots would work more effectively.
I didn't know this was possible in SC2 still. I play Zerg so I never really thought about it, but I guess it's something I'll have to watch out for when Protoss blocks my ramp :O

They're fixing the wall-off issue, but I hope they don't fix this little trick. It's not necessarily cheesy, and it adds a bit of depth to the game. It's nice seeing when the pros have all sorts of tricks up their sleeves. And also, "glitching" units to go where they shouldn't has been around for ages, and is an important strategy point to be aware of.
I can't even figure out why this would need to be patched? IMO, BW mechanics that transfer should stay as they are. Not to mention as a Protoss player this type of shit gets me all giggly. I love when some type of abuse finally goes Protoss' way. Then the patch-hammer falls. Ouch my feelings.
