I think at the beginning he was okay with Foxer, but then Korean fans dislike that nickname. Then he decided to use Optimus, which is considered the greatest name on Prime. However he lost the finals, so he thinks he's not worth the name yet. I think at this rate it will be difficult to follow what the fans want, cause there are few different opinions. He should just think of a new name. Preferably something more Korean, like a weird combination of a noun with an adjectives/verb (like: HopeTorture ).Btw, I think the name ManofOneWay is pretty cool. Too bad he didn't get to use it. Probably GOM/Blizzard requested him to keep his old name to attract more viewers? | ||

Can Boxer recruit Foxer to his new intel sponsored team? Does anyone outside of teamliquid refer to him as Foxer? It'd be awesome if he'd just take that as his ID, but I imagine Korean fans are not referring to him by that name. Maybe become SlayerS_FoxeR. | ||

edit: imo the reason why the id boxer is so important is because we've always referred to THE slayers_boxer, the emperor, the god of starcraft, etc. when we use "boxer." Now it's associated with both atm. | ||

I think people are getting a bit too fanatical about a simple name change. If Slayers_boxer really wanted his old ID back I'm sure he can just ask Boxer for it, and I'm sure Boxer will agree since Slayers_Boxer is his hero and everything. But if the real guy isn't making a huge deal about it (which only adds to my respect for him), why are so many fans raging over it? Of course we can all just blame Blizzard for not retiring Boxer's Jersey right? | ||

I'm not sure if anyone posting in this thread understands what playing professional sc2 means to these guys; it is not just them playing sc2 for cash, fun and fame like most of you would. I think it's interesting that he ever picked Optimus for an ID - however it is not his ID, just his team's ID, and he did not become the champion for Prime therefore he is not going to label himself as one. Sure he got to the finals. He is not the champion though. The ID is just the ID. The player is the player. Doesn't really matter what ID he uses.
