Or a bad thing? Or should this be removed? One thing that comes into my mind is that it will DEFINITELY help lower skilled players in terms of timing (either attack or know when an attack is coming) and doesn't help the higher skilled players more. Discuss? It is not a tremendous deal, the game clock does have a correlation to real time clock which can be found on your wrist in the form of a watch or other forms of time telling device. It is a minor change to those who wanted it. It is not adding something too drastic or taking away something too important that can not readily be replaced by something else.

I much rather have people learn things through the flow of the game or supply, since it boosts your game sense. I don't think time is a good measurement of game flow at all.

you can't even imagine how happy i was when they added a clock to the steam overlay. i'd really love a clock in game because knowing what time it is while ingame without having to alt-tab out would definitely make me a happy camper. as for the stopwatch... i really don't know what the big deal is. it might help really low level players with their timings, but above platinum i can't see it being a big deal. most players above that level know timings in terms of their food count. actually, it could help players with timing injections or dropping mules. anyone who has played quake knows what i mean.

# A new game clock has been added. Players can now instantly see how long they've been in their current mission or match. This feature can be turned on or off in the Gameplay Options menu. # A new System Panel has been added. Players can now view their local time and FPS while in game by mousing over the Menu (F10) button in the upper-left hand corner of the game screen. Laptop users can also view Wi-Fi signal strength and battery levels. What you're showing is POINT 2, not point 1 for those who are misinformed.

This doesn't show the clock, only the system information and time. I think you have to go to gameplay for that and select the option. Just a side note, you played too much SCII if your local time is at 2:00 AM ![]() Side note #2: I hope ur video card isn't overheating cause ur playing SCII at 200 fps

So this will probably help zerg a lot, if you check the time every 12 seconds u nkow oh! creep tumors, oh! inject larvae. quite awesome of you ask me. At least in Quake, most pros still have a good feeling of when armor/health respawns even without timing. I don't know what crappy pros you know that can't get a feel for the timing without constantly looking at the timer. But either way, SC2 isn't UT/Quake. The clock isn't essential for SC2 as it is for quake item timing. SC2 really doesn't need a clock.

Now I know when I build stuff, it becomes more intuitive without having to check my replay to notice timings and what not. I *can* know, after losing drones to hellion or reaper or w/e, how long i can re-make drones to try and make up before i need to worry about aother push - maybe. But I think most of all I can see when I need to Spawn more larvae! and I think that's huge for zerg and very much needed .. just something to go BEEP BEEP every 40 seconds (not that the clock goes beep but you know how to calculate time + 40sec and then look for it). I think everything else are just minor issues/bonuses, and that making spawn larvae easier is 100 times more important (wont claim that I've thought of everything :p but yeah, helping spawn larvae was more important than any other issue/bonus this creates)

Good gamers know this stuff, this makes me think about League of Legend when I'm on skype I always say : " Dragon should spawn in a few seconds"... and bam right on time, I never check the clock. In SC I don't see it being usefull cause any harass that gets you away from your BO screw all the timing so you'd better be working without it I think.

Plus, it'll make receiving BM 10x more fun. Imagine... "You're so bad! That attack always comes at 2 minutes, not 1 minute 30 seconds, you're a fuckin noobie *leaves game*"
