It says you need to go to your email inbox and check the verification email. Click the verification link in the mail to activate your account!

Norada, I haven't done it myself but have u tried a different e-mail address gmail/yahoo? Sometimes hotmail is a pain? (I suppose u have checked ur spam right.. :-) )

Anyone familiar with this? I tried running as administrator, also checked IE proxies stuff. My router doesn't seem to block the port. Does Windows defender block this port or 360FireWall (Chinese virus scan/fire wall etc)?

i had the same problem, never played the game before , so i still dont know some unit names and what some research etc does (im too lazy to find it on english sites)... but yea chatting with others can be a bit hard at times at taiwan... I def prefer europe so far, played 21 games now and havent had lag problems (only 1;1 though). Im not sure if the auto matchmaking system picks players that i have little lag with or that it's just good in general...
also not sure what my ping is, but the game plays ok, guess that's most important

will try playing some games (2on2 or maybe 3on3 or so) with my friends tonight or maybe tmrw or so, then i'll know if that works well..

Kaolla does patching work normally? Or do I also have to maually download patches?
Could u possibly recommend a good website the download the patches from? Downloading the enGB installer now using torrents, will take another day or so to complete.. >.<50~100kb/s

I'm thinking of buying the Taiwan version of the game because I can't get a KSSN/phone number to use. So would you say Taiwan or the NA servers are more competitive ?

I'm using it right now. I want to play against varied builds, and also run tournaments on an Asian server. Ideally, I'd like to go on KOR but cannot right now because I don't have the identification needed.

Update for the people interested:
I got the EU version of the game, I had trouble downloading, see post above, but patching works just fine.
My account actually got locked after buying the game but I changed pasword and everything was fine again.
So far i've played one online game with reasonable latancy. Will update when I've played some more matches online.

If I'm reading correctly... The TW game costs over 200 dollars for 'unlimited access'. So I think that settles it for me.

ive been playing for a while on europe now from shanghai...
about 10 games 3v3
20 2v2
and 50 1v1.. have little to no problems with latency... seems to work just as well as the taiwan version (actually even better, since on taiwan i still disced occasionally)

As you say it depends on the version of SC2 you buy. If you want to play in EU you have to buy the EU version of SC2. If you want to play on the KR server you have to buy the KR game version etc.
I hear that blizzard/battlenet CAN change it for you but I'm not sure different sources have different stories so you'd better contact battlenet techsupport about that.
Hope that clarifies.

PS. SEA joined up with NA I heard, so maybe in the future more servers will join together? So eventually you can just choose which server you play on, just as in WC3/SCBW? Just a thought though.

If you are living in HK, just buy the game from local store, its cheaper (sometimes) than buying it via blizz store (esp the SEA version which would be around 600HKD but the local store sell it at 490ish)

EDIT: Just checked, the link was from the official forum and they redirect you to that site even when you try to buy it from blizz store...

Did you check your spam box to see if hotmail filtered it as spam?

I can't give u an exact number but as far as I understand is about 50euro for 'unlimited' play time, like 60US dollar? I'm in China and ended up playing on the EU server (since my chinese isn't that good and never mind traditional chinese). It's quite decent, of course some laggy games every now and then but in general it's good. I can play normally(without any serious lag) with my friends from the Netherlands.

At last some foreigners in Shanghai that play SC :D. Too bad I'm on SEA/US server. From what I can tell. SEA is playable all day round, lag and spike a bit but very playable.
The US is very smooth during daytime, but during evening its lag and spikes a lot!.

SEA server hasn't 'joined' the NA server - it is still running - people on the SEA server can have a second account on the NA server without having to buy another copy of the game
