just a word of warning at least to the zerg players who listened to this cast, havent experienced Jungle Basin, and are thinking about trying it out. That map is actually really bad if you ever go past having 2 bases. you've got basically a free natural expo, which is more beneficial imo to protoss and terran than it is for zerg, but anyways the problem is what 3rd you want to take. if you take the 3rd towards the center of the map, it's so wide open and so close to the center of the map it becomes really hard to defend, especially with like 4 paths all going to it. and if your opponent takes their equivalent 3rd theyre like almost touching it's so close.. and of course as zerg you dont want to be expanding towards your opponent. if you take the side base as your 3rd it's still rough, for one because the distance from your ramp to your 3rd ramp is as really far, and that ramp is pointed toward your opponent's base. your opponent actually has the same distance or less to get to your 3rd, which just makes trying to cover both really tough, especially with creep spread. sure you could go through the rock backdoor but that's still a very long ass way from your main. and that's it for expos, there are no other expos you can take other than the ones that belong to your opponent. the map is actually really small when anyone takes a 3rd base, the only good part is that early on where the distance from main to main is not super short by land nor air, like many other maps are.

There's plenty of awesome quotes in like every cast but I definitely loved incontrol's whole "I 4gated to defend your 4gate..." and all that came after it. I died.

I like Tyler's position as being more laid back, but ready to speak when asked. His answers seem pretty insightful and he speaks when he knows he has a valid point. The reason why the cast works so well is that the personalities on the cast complement each other. While JP tries to moderate the conversation, incontrol, Nony and rotating guest bring the "advice as a competitive gamer" and Day9 bridges the conversation to the listener's level of play. day 9 and Incontrol bring the lighter note to the conversation and Nony brings the "hey, I'm chill" attitude. I think JP directing questions at specific people invites another person (hint hint artosis) to join the cast. While 5-6 people seem like an impossibly large cast, I think the format of the podcast can accommodate it easily.

i guess there are 2 ways i can think of to justify his crazy statement: once protoss gets like 5-6+ colossi + any mix of ground units, especially with a few force fields roaches are a horrible idea as the main counter to colossi, so heavy roach is only a short termed solution. the other way is that he assumed that there'd also always be several good force fields, making the roaches unable to attack or move around, as well as clumping them up for splash i have to assume that's the case..cus even tho he often talks about zerg units being useless/crap, this is basic stuff that he should obviously have known for a long time

Roach is good, then the protoss has good forcefields and then roaches suck. It dosnt need to be many collossii, the protoss just needs you to not have reasearched burrow and roach burrow movement. You never assume that the protoss will make bad forcefields, its important to always measure your strategy towards the theoretical optimum.

Stalker/sentry/colossus is the bane of all zerg ground prior to T3, which I kind of want to say makes sense. I mean T3 units should beat T2, but Zerg takes so much longer to tech to Ultras/BLs that there are some very juicy timing windows where colossus can just clean up, roaches or not. Huk never really explained why he thought colossus weren't good against roach and I'd have liked to hear why he thought so. I mean yea they have more health than hydras so they soak up more damage, but they do less dps as well and take longer to break his front line of units to get to the colossus. The show was awesome as always. It's great having a zerg pov on the show, now you just need a terran one to come on every once in awhile. I've love to see a Terran defend marauders against Incontrol.
