CYA and why dont we see some americans at those weekly cups in EU like huk did?! I think you have a few too many double negatives. You do realize there there is only one American invited right? 2? Idra/Nony and i think we dont need to look at american only but to see america server wice. One American attending* "You do realize there there is only one American invited right? " And for that you got Huk... Huk is Canadian...but whatever. Regardless the point is that NA is arguably underrepresented at Dreamhack. MLG Dallas had Ret, TLO, Jinro, and Haypro. They came ... and what can Americans do when your not invited for the main event. GO try to get into the event by a BYOC competition(bo3 format)! But what do the americans do? they only blame the organisation because the invites. You want players to fly to Sweden (not to mention they need to provide their own computer) just to attempt qualification into the tournament with no guarantee they can ever participate in the main event? How can you even begin to compare this to the format of an MLG or a GSL where all participants have the same road to the finals. oGs TOP will have to win twice as many matches as Lucifron if he is to win the tournament, how is that a good system? There are 8 BYOC tournaments all with ro64 bo3.... and if you wanna win you also need to beat these guys. Just like GSL you need to pwn everyone. And ofc the DH organisation can work somethings out for them foreigners out there that cant provide their PC (they there own desk with computers for the main event). I dont see anything bad to have some "practice matches" to get into the main event. wowow and MLG is such a huge main event.... you can be out in 2x bo3. so dont even care about that you need to win evrything to have a profit from a event when its in another continent. (just look @ incontrol failure at GSL qualification that only cost and is efficient economical wise. ps: Why do american think they can steamroll evryone on lan and also painuser, he is nothing more then somebody who got a good roll in last MLG. Where is his achievement list from past games SC1/W3 and his SC2 achievement list is also not impressive.
You really are a frustrating individual, but I like conflict so whatever.
Why don't you try looking at Painuser's actual games? You know... the actual indication of his skill in Starcraft 2.

I looked at an article on Fnatic's site and Geoff had all the facts right; really decent prize money for a top 4 position. But TL has no threads about it from what I can tell and PainUser sounded like he was finding out about it on the cast. Who is going and why isn't there any hype? The Gamegune is a professional gaming competition that is held in the Aldea Digital, following in the footsteps of the Euskal Encounter. In this edition the game to be played is Starcraft II. It will be held in a specific area with organization provided PC, where the best players will fight in equal conditions. Every player will have to pay an entrance fee, even if they have been invited. T he entrance ticket fee will be $500 mexican currency, per person. In order to take part in this competition you will need to get an invitation from organization. In order to get such an invitation you might contact us on gamegune@euskalencounter.org.
that's like $50 USD though, comparable with MLG.

So many people in this thread getting rumproasted over the smallest things, if you don't like the podcast why do you listen?
Haters gonna hate.
Liked this weeks podcast by the way. Not surprised Painuser got looked over for Dreamhack since he's American and as far as I know, not exactly big in the European scene yet. I'm sure if he gets a little more renown they'll take notice.

Noone asked TOP to show up yet he comes like a boss and will try to win it all even if he has to play twice as many games.
PainUser isn't very known over here, everyone who did get an invite are more known to the european community so you can't really put the blame on Dreamhack. Saying he got screwed over is actually retarded.
If you think you deserved an invite you should actually have no problem qualifying. The BYOC-qualifiers even has a prize for the winner albeit small 3000SEK (around 430dollars) but it's just something extra for ze troubles + you get a chance to play for more cash. Just like a satellite for a poker tournament and we've seen some fairytale stories come out of those.
Anyway I find it pretty fair when it comes to invites (just look at all the nations represented), I guess they coulda had like 5 more invites or something instead of all these BYOC qualifiers but other than that everything seems about right.
The Bo1 in group play is pretty shitty though I have to say.

Ive loved every State of the Game since the beginning, but the latest one just wasnt any good. No offense but i just dont like PainUser at all. Maybe im just not into giant basketball shorts or something, who knows. Also, i really am not into hearing about garbage tv shows and mindless electronica. Dont let the show jump the shark already. It was improving weekly, but now its falling a bit in my personal opinion. Keep idra, keep incontrol, bring back artosis, tyler, and day9 when possible, no more painuser , no more dexter, no more weak clubbing stories. If i wanted to hear about all that all id have to do is log into facebook and talk to anyone age 18-35. Please keep it about Starcraft for gods sake some of us dont care about whats on tv or how easy it is for white youngish males to feel comfortable and egotistically satisfied while in the presence of techno. I love SofTG but this last one was weak.

Another excellent show guys.

Personal stories are what make the podcast amusing. The best time to listen to these people talk about Starcraft is when they're sharing personal stories and anecdotes about tournaments, lans, get togethers, etc... If they seriously just spoke about sc2 for 2 1/2 hours it would get old, boring, and stale within 2-3 weeks. Personality is what keeps is going and entertaining.
Further, as somebody else stated, the "clubbing" discussion lasted like no time whatsoever.... did you love hearing about IdrA's daily life of sc2? They're giving you insight and you're mad that PainUser spends time having fun? Holy dog shit, better not like him anymore.

It's funny when people arguing have no freaking idea who those invited players are.
01. Mouz White-Ra (P) – Invited 02. mTw DIMAGA (Z) -Invited 03. Mouz MorroW (Z/T) – Invited 04. TLAF-Liquid TheLittleOne (T/Z) – Invited 05. TLAF-Liquid Tyler(aka Nony) (P) – Invited 06. oGs inCa (P) – Invited 07. Fnatic Fenix (T) – Invited 08. aTn Socke (P) – Invited 09. Dignitas Sjow (T) – Invited 10. TLAF-Liquid HuK (P) – Invited 12. RAGE Tarson (T) – Invited 14. mTw DeMusliM (T) – Invited
These people absolutely deserve the invite. Everyone knows them, even outside Europe. Anyone claiming that they deserve the invite more would be outright an ass.
11. Mouz Naama (T) – Invited Whilst people don't know him in the US, he is one of the best Terrans in Europe. If not the best. He recently beat Sjow on DS Rack Lan, then in IEM EU. He can consistently beat players like Dimaga, White-Ra etc. He was basically a no-brainer to get invite. 15. SK MaDFroG (Z) – Invited MaDFroG is legend. Whilst he might not be the very best, he is still putting some really good results from time to time. Since the lan party is in Sweden, yeah, I'd invite him over pretty much anyone.
13. fnatic Lucifron (T) – Invited He is making good results in European scene. Whilst I dislike his play, and I think he is not that good. He is still beating the cream of the crop in EU with a bit of luck.
Anyone else already qualified for the tournament won DH Qualifier with best of their country participating. So, having PainUser instead of one of them? Goes pretty much against the spirit of the event. They wanted a multinational event so they hosted series of qualifier tournaments all over the europe. Winner gets free flights and hotels for the duration of DH.
Of course, I don't blame you people for not following nordic community, but I'd say have a little more trust in DH Admin's decisions. Especially since PainUser is pretty much no name in here.
Group A is great example, Americans don't know who are Elfi/ThorZain. Nor why MaDFroG was invited. Elfi and ThorZain are players who can play on even footing against the best of Europe, they ain't the most high profile players, but on a perfect day either one of them could actually win the tournament. Not that I was expecting it.
MaDFroG on the other hand has been putting very good results in ESL Nordic Series, which has SjoW, Naama, ThorZain + Him in the top 4. Actually the top4 knockout will be played on Dreamhack as well.
Anyways, let's see what happens.

I don't even know if you guys read these posts, but I think you guys get better every time. PainUser is a great addition, even if he's only there because you can't find anyone else. He has a very good personality for this sort of cast, and the back and forth between he and iNcontroL was very entertaining.

demuslim would be an awesome guest. Please try to get him on JP :D

Why troll? You are "the guy in the forums" they make fun of in the cast for taking shit too seriously. Who cares if they werent 100% accurate on who got an invite. Please go take your negativity somewhere else.

Ah well <3 the way of thinking from Americans. They always think they can beat anyone etc but your talent pool is really low compared with EU. Our top level is so much higher then the USA scene.
And also i dont know why incontrol is so hyped ... what are his achievement in SC1/SC2?

Why do you keep hating? eSports needs to flourish and be awesome, stop trying to say EU is 'SOO MUCH BETTER THAN US!', seriously, it gets no where, except maybe troll status.
Btw, the fact that you know nothing about Incontrol is just blatant hypocrisy, you tell us 'USA fanboys' to keep track of less known (World wide) Euro players, and you don't even know who Incontrol is (someone known worldwide from the US).
