Agreed, it isn't like I hate Moonglade, Catz, or that other guy they keep having on lol, but they're just not as entertaining as those 3 and on top of that sometimes they say stuff and I am forced to think how are these guys considered pros? It isn't about their skill level, but their comments on certain scenarios that make me think they're not worth listening to. That isn't all the time though, so no complaints. In the end though nothing beats those three + an artosis for highly opinionated banter.

I feel bad for JP, no wonder he plays WoW again. That game is filled with people who are just trying to run away from real life problems.

That's kinda harsh.

Is anyone else having problems listening to the older episodes from the SoTG homepage? I've been trying to listen to the earlier podcasts but can't. If anyone knows how, please message me.

I feel bad for you, because you seem to think it is a sympathetic gesture to tell someone that you feel bad for him playing a game that he enjoys (an excellent game I might add). Oh, and also directly indicating that you think he tries to run away from real life problems, which is completely based on speculation.
You, Sir, are a moron.

Episodes 10-40 are the heyday of SotG, IMO. After that it got weird with Geoff leaving, then 46-60 were pretty good give or take. I still listen to a bunch of the old ones because a) they're hilarious and b) it's interesting to hear old viewpoints.

Looks like Blip has changed their embedding shit and so all the old shows that were on there are borked. Luckily, I downloaded them as they were released and have them all (except ep 1-5 and anything after ep 72). Maybe JP could reupload them? Or, if he doesn't have time, bless someone else to do it for him, because the old shows are gems.

I also miss old State of the Game, like the great cloaked banshee vs DT debate. Or the great comment from Tyler when people freaked out about him criticizing someones play: "He went the same build 5 games in a row, I can't really support that." Or Geoff's updates on Artosis's evolving hair or Anna's calls into SotG every week.
Sigh, the good old days. I miss them.

I hope this doesn't mean SotG's end, I loved it no matter the guests. Not every show was perfect, but JP knows how to moderate, it would be a gigantic loss for the community if he didn't have a show anymore.

I'd actually like it if JP turned SotG into the e-sports debate show he said he wanted to do, ala Around the Horn. Adding a point system and making it different than other shows would make me more interested to watch. The Pulse has already done a good job of this.

The guests for tomorrow's show look great, it will be nice hearing from about WCS from Cloaken and djWheat/TB are always fun.

I'm very excited about tomorrows guests. I really hope JP keeps the show going despite Artosis leaving.

JP is amazing at what he does and hope he continues this show. All though I'm sad cause I thought Artosis and him had great chemistry, I can understand why the time difference would get in the way. This show has been a huge part of my life for the last two years(?) and hope it continues to exist with whatever format or guests.

very interesting guests I must say JP. Way to step it up!

Yeah, I agree. What's with so much pointless hate against JP these days. SotG has been free, has been great, but yet why do so many people feel the need to be hateful towards him.

But to the show, hope Catz is on this week :D. Lots of stuff to talk about and preview, which is good. Not sure how this person went from defending SotG/JP to hating on him over the course of one day.
Regardless of the reason, it was still silly to insult him and also with an insult to WoW players too. What I dislike is people hating on popular games (which happens a lot). I played online games ever since SC1, and it was always (in any forum community) "cool" to hate on games (C.S. 1.6 for example, DotA when it was gaining popularity and beating out WC3, WoW when it has gained popularity, LoL, etc).
It's really silly because the majority of gamers (maybe like 99%) don't aren't pros or earn anything from playing the game they like (including the majority of SC2 players too), so there's no reason to insult anyone for playing any specific game.

I agree.
I like Artosis but it's not like no one else can bring to the table what he brings.
When SotG returned from the long hiatus late 2012/early 2013 without Artosis (or Incontrol, or any of the old regulars) I still enjoyed it just as much (if not more since it was a breath of fresh air to hear what others besides those guys think about something).
I watched Meta and it isn't really any different than SotG, and to people who say SotG is more drama filled... I disagree. Only the fast few episodes had any real "drama" but that was just due to WCS which is a valid discussion topic. Before the WCS discussion, SotG was about StarCraft just as much as the new show "Meta" for example, with as much balance discussion as Meta.
Of course, not that I'm hating on Meta or anything. I'll watch as many SC related shows as I can (it's not like there are a lot of them anyway). Meta, SotG, Inside the Game, NASL The Pulse (for examples) I'll watch them all and I'll be interested to see how all the shows do their thing.

It's clever of Blizz to send Cloaken. People have a very high opinion of him and this should make it easier to turn this debacle around.

Weird an awesome choice of guests. I inhale anything that has TB on it anyway (short of watching his channel, who has the time?), Wheat is always a fun choice and having somebody from 'zzard on makes perfect sense.
Really looking forward to the show.

Will be fun to see how the bliz rep reacts when TB starts to criticize Blizzard for the whole WCS debacle. He's lucky they added the $10 000 exception for tournaments before the podcast.

Dogfight between Blizz guy and TB, with Wheat and JP as commentators. Sure, I'll watch! <3
