"I want iNcontroL" 2. "He is on inside the game, watch that because I am tired of always hearing EG players' opinions." --- now here comes a little thing called deductive reasoning. If you keep hearing EG opinions, and if they are represented on Inside the Game, then you must be watching itg to get those opinions of which you are so tired. This is assumed based on the fact that because I don't know listen to itg, I don't know EG opinions to be tired of them, therefore, if you don't want to keep hearing EG opinions, stop listening to itg, then those opinions become fresh and new to you when represented on SotG. Sorry had to get that off my chest. It's pretty rude to respond so flippantly and suggest I don't know how to read, when you could take a moment to reread what I wrote before responding. This episode has been great, and I think iNcontroL did a nice job, having him on occasionally is definitely welcome, though I have been enjoying RollPlay a lot so at least I get to enjoy his personality there.

I second this motion. Not watched SOTG in ages but tuned in to see your guys thoughts on HoTS currently and you kept me entertained the whole way through. Artosis is so awesome when he's just being himself and not super proffesional caster mode <3

It can be nameless, faceless, terran, protoss and Zerg players, but that was the funniest part of my day at work.

SC2 Zerg was BW Terran SC2 Terran was BW Protoss SC2 Protoss was BW Zerg What do you think he meant by this? Clearly the SC2 races feel different from their BW counterparts, but how is SC2 Zerg like BW Terran? (and the others). Thoughts? JP - could you ask him this next episode?

Clearly the SC2 races feel different from their BW counterparts, but how is SC2 Zerg like BW Terran? (and the others). Thoughts? JP - could you ask him this next episode? I think the way Artosis said it, you can definitely get the wrong idea. In "race style" (like how they build units, etc), the races all play relatively similar to their BW counterpart. But in how they play, or their BOs, and etc, they are different. I was also confused at that at first but then he sort of answered it by saying that in BW, Terran was everywhere (like Zerg) with things like vultures, spider mines, etc. Another reason could potentially be that in BW, Terran did well by turtling also, like in SC2 Zerg. (In SC2, a turtling Terran is no match for a turtling Zerg or Protoss.) Like how SC2 Zerg has one of the strongest late game, in BW Terran has probably one of the strongest late game too (with the ability to switch tech relatively easily, which I'll talk about below). Finally, like SC2 Zerg (switching from BL to Ultralisks or vice versa), BW Terran can switch tech relatively easily (mech is really strong and you didn't have to go out of the way to build a specific unit... In SC2, if a Zerg was going from Brood Lords to Ultralisks, you had to build mass tech labs on your barracks then marauders. While in BW, switching tech was relatively easily as there was no need for swapping tech labs or anything.) For example, if a Protoss suddenly had mass Carriers, building Goliaths to counter is relatively easy as BW Terran. Again, since Factory was already the standard for most of the match ups (minus TvZ), and all of Terran core units can be produced just from the Factory, you could switch it up easily. Like in Z in SC2. So yeah, I can understand why Artosis said SC2 Zerg is more like BW Terran. That's mostly in terms of strengths and weaknesses though and "play style" I guess. In terms of actual "race style" (not "playing style" like "turtling" specifically but in terms of overall race style, how they play and how you can use them), I say with the exception of Zerg, Protoss and Terran are really similar to their counterpart in BW. Siege tanks function basically the same. You want to leap frog them. (Of course unlike in BW, they aren't almost unstoppable.) The way races build are similar to their BW counterpart. Also Terran (well not in HotS, especially how they hyped up the mechanics but at least in WoL) is probably the strongest race if you can play it mechanically perfectly (or near perfectly) and know what to do, which was basically the same case in BW. Both in BW and SC2, Terran had probably the highest strength (with a higher skill cap to match the higher potential). (It's probably the same reason why foreign Terrans weren't doing that well during Terran dominance. During Terran dominance, it was mostly Koreans dominating. One of the main reasons were that Koreans had better mechanics to take advantage of that Terran strength.) Overall though BW and SC2 races do have differences (noted above) but there are definitely a lot of similarities between them too . In terms of what you have to do, things are definitely different of course (BW Terran was more turtly and expanding while in SC2, Zerg is similar to BW Terran in that aspect) but in terms of how the race "works" (which I know is vague >.>), I say they aren't too different. __________ Edit - I like to add that in BW, maps were bigger and structures were also noticeably smaller. You could fit things like more factories and stuff in a single base (I guess an analogy is most main bases in BW is more like a "city" while in SC2, it's a small town). If Terran loses their mech army, they could probably replace it quick enough without losing the game (similar to SC2 Zerg but unlike SC2 Terran). (Also what helped besides smaller structures is that in BW, everything was lost more in a "tug of war" or "gradual" style instead of all at once in SC2, this meant replacing units was much more doable in BW than in SC2. You rarely lost your entire army at once. You'd slowly lose it which also meant you could replace it almost just as fast if you had the resources.) Zerg did have the best capability to replace their army like in SC2 Zerg but (unlike in SC2), the difference isn't as big or noticeable as in SC2 because of the above (the fact that both Terran and Protoss had the ability to have more production structures in their base + the fact that everything was lost more gradually which meant replacing units was much easier).
