You are right about the bad feelings part surely. Interesting wall of text by Geoff there. I for one respect his decision. Good luck to him. I think it's dumb (not a whole lot of upside, but potential for a lot of shit) to try to pay the pillars different salaries. In a perfect world, Incontrol, Tyler and Artosis would all be seperate but equal pillars with same salary and same increases. Everyone has contributed to making the show what it is today and it can get ugly really fast if you try to rank value especially amongst buddies.
JP is host so he should get most (fuck everyone who thinks he can be replaced).

Good luck JP! Hope Day9, Tyler, and Incontrol can make it!

Well, this is bittersweet. I'm definitely glad to see QXC and Apollo coming on, but incontrol really was the best part of sotg. Of course I'll still watch/listen and I'm sure it'll be good stuff, but I doubt it'll have the dynamic needed to create the humor it used to.

I agree with everything here, InControl Nony and Artosis seem to put the same amount into the show and should really be paid the same.
Shame Geoff won't appear he's great on the show. Definitely a few bad moments but damn in like 200+ hours of podcasts, 30 minutes of that is pretty acceptable.

I'll watch the vod for sure (can barely watch anything live these days), but I would love to have incontrol on as a guest real soon

Wait, he's pissy because he was being paid 2nd least? Assuming JP gets paid the most, then Artosis, then himself, then Nony, what the fuck? Artosis is a mega giant, JP runs the damn thing. Don't see Nony bitching about being paid less. That actually really annoys me. That alone blunts whatever his wall of text would have done for me understanding his decision. Sure, drama. Sure, busy. But bitching over money when you make more than 90% of pros in the first place? Then bitching about money when you get paid less than the show host, and Artosis, who gets paid more than 99% of any SC2 personality anywhere?
It's...wow, this is the first time I've honestly been angry at something Incontrol said/did. To bitch about money is ridiculous. Should have left it at "Tired of the drama bombs," and been done with it. You know the saying, "Too much information?" Yeah. TMI.
Still glad to have SOTG back. I actually fist-pumped when I heard Apollo would be on the show. QXC has always been a great guest, and ToD should be good enough. If he's not, then we're promised Nony sometime soon, and QXC/Apollo will be good enough to carry the show.

Don't forget to use a condom.

Pretty sure when he says he gets paid the second most he means next to Apollo, ToD or Nony or something.
I don't think JP should automatically be paid the most. I don't mean that he doesn't have the authority or that it's immoral to do it. I mean that it could be in his best interest to first pay the people we want to see (Geoff) and then worry about his own cut. What good is having the biggest cut if nobody watches the show?

Hosts were paid to do this ? oO This is so strange. I understand now why the show fell apart. Well, glad SOTG is coming back at least, but if you need to pay the new guests I fear it'll end the same.

sotg will never be the same without incontrol. IMO ITG is better now, idra and incontrol go so well together, and djwheat is awesome too : )

at the start it was just 4 friends talking shit that related to sc2. they did it for free, and had a lot of fun

maybe at first, but as soon as people realised sc2 was going to be a serious thing everyone who is now a big name in the scene went full tryhard on brand development. they all started deciding how to make the most money, and you can't blame them. but thats just how it is.

That was before the show got huge. People were more accepting back then, less assholes wanted to talk shit about everything. Inc said in his post that doing the show takes a toll on him. It's much worse recently than it was in the past. You can't expect someone to do something for free that harms them, and puts them at constant risk of jeopardizing their other jobs. In this sense I think Inc does deserve the most, easily. He contributes most to the entertainment value of the show, he puts himself out there the most, and he risks the most by doing so. Someone in that position needs to be compensated somehow.

Exactly, the show before was not all sunshine and roses. Also these guys have lives and sometimes can't do the show, but would get shit about it. Looking at this thread in the high point of SotG popularity, it a wonder is was on for as long as it was. The entire thing reached a new level of entitled and filled with trolls who knew they could get a response out of the hosts. There is no way I would do something like that for free, no matter how much exposure it got me.

While I understand his decision and all the reasoning behind it, goddamit I want incontrol on the show! Just voicing my opinion here, cause I feel I'm part of the silent majority that really appreciates what Geoff has brought not only to this show, but to the sc2 community as a whole.
