But its too bad IGN isn't sponsoring them. That would seem like such a better fit to me all things considered. They're already a huge part of the community and I would love to see them get involved and make the show something even more important with all the incredible production value they have been showing us lately. The ideal situation would be that Gamespot will be a perfect sponsor and give them everything IGN would. Except this way maybe it can help spread the gospel of starcraft, and maybe even esports in general, to a new forum and a new community. In an ideal world. But some how it doesn't seem too likely and it feels like this is just MLG sponsoring them all over again. =/
Well it would be awkward to have an MLG Employee hosting an IPL Sponsor sponsored talk show. Yes I know SOTG isn't the place for JP to speak as an employee but I can't imagine that would really fly.

Obviously they are being sponsored by Brazzers... but really can't wait to hear which site is sponsoring them.
|
It is Giantbomb 100% , JP pretty much said it, it was the main reason why brad who runs the site was on the panel

Better production, more coverage
giantbomb's vinny caravella doing video editing for sotg...
a man can dream, right?

Yeah, he confirmed Giant Bomb (or Gamespot, who owns them now). He obviosly meant top 10 gaming website. Don't expect to find SotG on the Google/Craigslist/Facebook home page...

My two favorite things on the internet, being merged together. This is awesome! Great for both parties involved.

Technically Gamespot doesn't own Giantbomb. They are both owned by CBSi.
But ya, giantbomb-supported SotG would be pretty sweet.

Anyone else think Space Jam guy could be the next Red Shirt WoW guy? LOL. That was awesome.

I've just listen to mp3 and shocked with you guys' take on what Wolf said during the "drop". It was the best time to mention Dustin's name
I felt like some may want to finish Wolf's carrier. "Biggest flop I've seen a while?" you are the biggest flop ever.

Jeff Gerstmann specifically states that on the video outlining the purchase (linked below).
I've been a Giant Bomb member since the blog (like March '08, when they released the first How to Build a Bomb video), and having two of my favourite things combined would be the greatest thing ever.
Hopefully this will bring back the GB SC2 community. It kinda died. I never got to take part in tournaments because of work but myself and about 40 other people used to talk about it a ton, but slowly people started switching away and then it just stopped one day so I started posting here.

Giant Bomb was aquired by CBSi not too long ago, and they have not toned down any of their stuff yet, still being awesome as ever. I don't think there's any need to worry, they wouldn't buy a winning concept and then change the idea completely... I hope. They haven't toned down at all. Now instead they just infringe on as many CBS copyrights as possible and see how much they can get away with. Just listen to the first post-CBS purchase Bombcast:

That's not the story JP's twitter tell us

I meant they are probably not married nor is their relationship an obstacle for sotg production.

That is just wrong. They are both owned by CBSi. They are on an equal level. And the way JP said "top 10" to me it seemed like his personal top 10 websites, not the top 10 websites based on visitors or anything like that. In my mind there is no doubt it is a partnership with GB, I am just wondering if it will be only integrated into a regular podcast or if it will be something bigger than that.

Poor wording on my part probably, they're part of the same "family" of game sites within CBSi. They are equals, one doesn't own the other. It's like how GameFAQs is considered connected to Gamespot, Giantbomb is now tangentially connected to Gamespot. Basically the only way to tell they are related is the footer at the bottom of the site right now.

yeah i actually thought wolf calling out the blizz guys was a subtle attempt at trolling.. they were in fact in the crowd that night lol
