I think Desert Oasis is more justified (see Jinro vs Socke). Kulas Ravine was taken away of the map pool for a good reason, the map is retarded (IdrA had no chance to win, even if he knew that Nazgul was going blink stalker, it's just too powerfull on Kulas).

QXC was saying he plays custom games because ladder has a chance of getting somebody that wont be a challenge to you. He wants to play vs someone who has atleast a 50% chance of beating him. Tyler on the other hand does things individually. For example if he wants to work out timings on a build he can play versus a computer because the point isn't beat another person, but to get a solid build without distractions. I do the same thing right now. I was working this past week on getting my mechanics up so i played that multitasking trainer which boosted my effective apm by 40. If i were to do that on ladder the early game isnt really that challenging and i can't pull all my effort into mechanics without losing. This is just my interpretation, teeler if im wrong call me out :D You are my hero btw handsometoss! I think you are right. I am also using Trainer for last few days, any other ideas for practice ? I am a macro zerg so i don't really have timing atacks to work on...

At least Kulas is like any other map, ever. Desert Oasis makes for 'good' games because it is so weird that it's almost impossible to have a standard game on it. Which is not a good thing for players. As far as I'm concerned, it's a dumbass move keeping them in the map pool. They're out for a reason, might as well have a tournament in the 1.1.1 version of the game...

InControl is hilarious, I will be very disappointed if the haters get to him.

Sean is too nice of a person, (doesnt want to say any mean stuff because he doesnt want his image to be hurt) aka his image is marketable. -JP is just the host so obviously the same -tyler is really calm and chill and another reason i watch it. keep going incontrol! your overall just honest remarks and sometimes really cool answers keep me waiting every week. usually i just browse these forums but i made an account just to give you a positive comment. Btw i was happy to see both incontrol/machine do well this tourney. they definitely have worked hard and it was nice to see it pay off.

Yeah, just because DO or Kulas get one good match every 10 played that doesn't involve heavy map abuse leading to an easy win, doesn't make them good maps. There can be a 100% flat, perfect square map, and it could have an epic game as well..

Edit: MLG operates as a season comprised of events such as raleigh, DC, and dallas(national championship/end of season). Next season, hopefully the maps will update and there will be changes to tournament rules(continuation games in the lower bracket). Keeping the same map pool and rules across the entire season is important as it validates their ranking system, etc.

Get off nazgul's jock, his stalker micro was awesome and idra didn't have a build prepared to counter a 4gate even though the push came later than usual because of the blink tech. Idra definitely played poorly on metalopolis. He absolutely could have won that game if he didn't suicide everything next to the wolf statue. Kulas shouldn't have been in the map pool though. DO probably should have been replaced as well, but Kulas is MUCH more imbalanced. DO is just crappy to play on. Can't blame Nazgul for doing an anti idra strategy well or for picking a map that he had every right to pick.

Yeah on both games he lost he didn't make good decisions. 1st game engaging where he did was stupid and the worst place to engage but he did for whatever reason which cost him game 1. Game 3 I think moving out was a mistake should have waited for roach speed or something but oh well his fault ![]() Can't wait for the podcast later today assuming there is one ![]()
