Can you imagine Boxer vs Joyo on Paradoxx if we had production tabs and supply/resources comparisons back then? Nobody would've watched that game twice. Or when Yellow had a perfect lurker contain on Reach on Mercury (heavily imbalanced ZvP map back in the day) and Reach broke out with 20 speedlots out of nowhere? It was an incredibly epic moment for a game 5 which would've been much less exciting if we had this SC2 observer interface.
I can understand hiding production tabs and resources and such, but how can an observer fail on not spotting 20 zealots? hiding information like that on purpose is creating fake drama imo. Oh hey what do you know 40 food of zealots out of no where!

I wouldn't mind if supply counts were hidden because I think everyone (both casters and spectators) pay way too much attention to them.

I'm pretty sure that most who watch SotG, a show where there's indepth talk about SC2 for 2 hours straight, are already avid fans/players. I'm sure there's lots to learn from professional BW but it's also alot of nostalgia for the SotG pillars. I immediately recognize that nostalgia look Day9 gets when talking about BW, nothing can compare to the game you grew up with and it might be hard to discern what's objectively good and what's nostalgia.

I just watched the VOD and I have to say that I'm really disappointed in Incontrol. Seriously man, you know pretty damn well that europeans are better than americans, you know that the european ladder is harder than the american ladder and just because some randoms were complaining because you didn't know some mediocre europeans you are now making jokes at the expense of an entire continent and it's population?
Sure, this might seem funny to you and other americans, but if you really think most of us don't take offense in that, breaking news, we do.
You get a big fuck you for that, you should be glad europeans don't make web shows where they make fun of americans all night (unlike you do -and let's be honest america gives the rest of the world enough reasons to make fun of them), I really don't think you realize how counter-productive stuff like this. We want to help and support eachother in the foreign scene, all you do is spread hate, show some respec and grow up.

You are making fun of europeans all the time and I really don't understand why, we are actually all nice people and we DON'T ever publicly make fun of americans, or show me a post or video or news report or anything like that where europeans are making fun of americans, you on the other hand make fun of an entire continent and all the people who live there, don't you think you are being unreasonable there? you call it humor, but for some people you are crossing a line, when you make racist jokes (and making fun of an entire continent is racism) you certainly are crossing this line.

We never do it publicly on tv shows, Incontrol is an idol for many of us and to see him make fun of my country (continent) really hurts me as a fan, because I actually do love this guy and I support him, but he doesn't really make it easy for me when he talks so much crap about europe.
I don't see why they would do that, it is obviously racist and yes they might have been just trolling, but for me personally it's really offensive because I don't ever hate on americans or make fun of them, so I really don't see where all this hate is coming from, sure there might be some retards who make fun of america, but Incontrol you should know better, you have a shit ton of fans in europe, don't give us a hard time supporting you by making fun of us, it's just not fair because we never did anything to you to deserve this.

I played a bit of Brood War when I was much younger, but never followed it as an e-sport.
What I appreciate about the Brood War discussion is that it really put SC2 in perspective. I enjoy SC2 already, but the idea that we're only scratching the surface of what players are capable of makes me really excited to the future.
