He really doesn't bring much to the panel. If I had to pick someone who was the glue who holds the show together, it would be iNcontroL. The show took a nosedive when he left. Him + Artosis really make SOTG. Even though NonY doesn't really talk alot, I really couldn't imagine the show without him. Demuslim was amazing on the show, I would be OK with him always being there, either along with Day9 or replacing him. I love Day, but he is really starting to go the way of the pure caster type. He's just too busy. I really wish he would start playing again :\

Now I'll state something you can approve on. I feel as if you sometimes opening up and just talking would help. When balance is being talked about, you dont always need to talk about brood war and how you guys changed your gameplay even when things were imba. True, but that doesn't mean we should still deal with them now. And a little bit of drama may go a long way to help you out. No, don't go for it all the time. However, whether people admit it or not, we like drama because we can relate. When you get in an argument it shows that you are human. Anyway, it's amazing how 1 guy last page saying they should remove day9 get people going like this.

However I do have some honest critic for day9 that may help him be more appealing to the main stream. First I'll start with a positive. You're usually a positive guy, with the infectious laugh and ability to compliment people when talking with them. Now I'll state something you can approve on. That being said, I don't understand why people are even considering kicking day9 off. If anything they should just go back to having a guest every show, and instead of limiting the number of people on the show, they should work on summing up their points briefly (tyler). There would be a lot more content on the show if they just did not waste as much time repeating the same points (for example, instead of jp asking everyone what they think about something, he should ask one person, and then ask if anyone else has any different opinions).

Okay, maybe not the glue, but he is what gives it that spark, that thing, everything is more funny with him there.

State of the Game is at its best when there is friction and good discussion and I feel like Day9 tends to be way to moderate about anything and everything for this show. People with strong views and good articulation of those views are the best type of people for SotG. I think that this is legitimate criticism of Day9 but it's way too extreme. Doesn't it sound more reasonable to say that Day9 should improve if he has flaws rather than just leave? Walking out on things just because you aren't perfect at it is a shitty way to be.

Are you really discussing to remove the oldest pillar? Cut Day[9] some slack. I do agree with some of the criticism though.

He doesn't bring anything to the table when it comes to modern Starcraft. Day9's input when it comes to Starcraft players: "Player XX is super nice, and also really really good." Day9's input when it comes to GSL: "I didn't really watch the games, but my brother Nick surely did an awesome job casting this weekend." Day9's take on game balance: "Generally I don't want to discuss game balance because there is no balance in a game until its been out for 10 years like Broodwar, and all the strategies have been cemented. Also I don't want to give a strong opinion about anything, because I don't want to upset anyone. Everything is a rainbow." Yeah, I kind of agree with this, mainly the part on balance. The idra/day9 "balance debate" a while ago was probably the first time day9 said something that I really didn't like.

I dunno, its not like Day9 is a bad part of the show, but he brings the least to the table without a doubt. When Incontrol left, the show definitely took a nose dive. When Day9 is not there or leaves early, you do not even notice.

Day9 just doesn't get focused on balance while guys like idra whine about imbalance. For just playing and getting better the day9 way seems to me better. (it doesn't matter if xyz is imba, because we have to deal with it the way it is). day9 and now artosis too are the 2 only reasons 1 sometimes watch stotg any more. I have no real criticism about the show, but I just don't like to have incontrol and tyler every week as hosts.

I've always thought Day9 didn't fit in SotG. And i say this out of pure love for that guy, what he does for the community is just awesome but he can't be everywhere and SotG doesn't fit him and vice versa. Now some of you think that "thats your opinion, we want him there". Just take a brief moment and think about what is State of the Game, what is content and watch some old episodes and you'll starting to see that what i quoted and called a little harsh actually is true. I got nothing but love for that guy but you can't just be everywhere

Don't know if it is because he doesn't want to be controversial, or it simply is that he is dead tired most of the time. Also, it is probably a good thing for the show to have sean as a soothing element once in a while.
