Could you possibly add a race rank stat for each player? For example when I look at my player stats (http://sc2ranks.com/char/us/290365/LetoAtreides) on your website I like that I could see my region and world rank, but i'd also like to see what my rank is among other protoss players.

Right now I am thinking: Average points/win ratio /games per race/league and region/league Right now, when I search for my ID, I cannot find it without putting my character code or bnet profile URL in. When I search, it says there are more than 50 with that name, and it only displays the "first" 50 (not sure how you determine first). However, if I sort if by, for example, points, it only sorts the first 50. I know I would be in the top 50 for my username, but I don't show up. I think when you sort it it should sort all of the found names, not just the first 50, or there should be an option to move on to the next 50.

Ah, I see what you're saying. The sorting table is only for local data not global. I'll play around with it to see if I can add anything extra, but the search is going to be semi-limited just due to speed. Searching through 300,000 names and sorting it can be a bit DB intensive so I need to play with it first.

Good idea, I'll see about doing that. Although I need to play with the UI a little bit to fit it in.

Here's a dumb question but if it says your region rank is #500 platinum, does that mean you're #500 in plat or #500 in that region overall even including the diamond people?

Searching only shows the first 50 results, which isn't very helpful when you're not in those first 50. =[

It means 500th in platinum in your region. My protoss account has almost 400 points in diamond and i'm like in 2000th place in my region...

From SC2 Ranks
Latin America: 7,469
Are there only 7,469 people now online in Latin America? Shadowed, the total number of players playing in Latin America are correct? If yes, this is bad. I hope this number will increase soon.

another interesting thing is games played
None of foreigner pros are at the top - Koreans are
Even though there are no teams and leagues they are working their ass off to get to the top already

Added an API for character info pulling for those who want: http://sc2ranks.com/api

I increased it to 100 and you can page through it, but if you are searching for yourself you should be using the battle.net url or character code tabs.
Ultimately, I'm not going to add sorting it adds too much load time.

It's hard to say, I don't (unfortunately!) have access to Blizzards internal numbers so I can't say anything solid. My feeling is, the numbers aren't too far off for people who are doing multiplayer, I've done almost everything I can think of to get names short of hacking battle.net and stealing their customer list.

Alright here's something I'm going to be playing with, not sure how well this will turn out. Going to be adding historical data. Here's an example http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4136/4874006320_ac8f568123_b.jpg obviously this is test data, to show how it works.
Changed it so it will try and make sure every division is updated within 24 hours, priority will go to higher leagues and the top 100 1v1 Diamond leagues will continue to have their divisions updated hourly. Doing the math, updating every division in 24 hours is easily possible so the data should be consistent/accurate. But the higher your league (and especially for top 100 1v1 diamond) the better the accuracy is.
It's scheduled to run at 4:00 AM PDT every day, so you will start to see logs tomorrow morning.
You can access this by going to a characters and clicking the "T" or "R" next to the league icon, this isn't an amazingly clear way of accessing data and I'm working on a better one but for example http://sc2ranks.com/char/us/388538/HuK -> http://sc2ranks.com/team/111866

Did you remove the bar on the frontpage showing how many players there were in the different regions? Can you look at that somewhere else? Without having to count stuff in the stats page . It was fun following how the different regions grew.

Still there and it's showing up for me, did it reappear or can you still not see it?

How about functionality that allows people to create accounts/groups so they can create rosters for clans, leagues, etc.

Is there any way to do a division ranking?
EDIT: I mean comparing the different divisions with each other.

empyrean are you talking about "side-by-side" comparison?

Err, I'm talking about ranking the actual divisions.
Like
1. Raven Tango 2. Baneling Theta 3. Furinax Victor
etc.

Was considering it, but I'm not sure a good way to rank them. Do you do it by average points? Highest points? Lowest? The range?

The problem is verification. For the WoW Armory there was a trick I could use to verify characters without touching account credentials, for the SC2 one there is no way to do it besides manual verification.

I'd probably say either average or median points. You could also do a range (25th-75th percentiles, etc.).
