Step 1. Fail a cannon rush. Step 2. Expand with a forge but forget the cannon. Step 3. Narrowly escape death by mass speedling + baneling with zealot + stalker + cannon. Step 4. Transition into normal game. Step 5. Scout mass hydra roach. Step 6. Mass up some colossus with ground units and attack. Step 7. Crush roach hydra. Step 8. Observe the opponent's first message, "co-lol-sus." Step 9. Respond to the clever pun with a "lol." Step 10. Eradicate all traces of enemy as he has gone AFK out of shame.

LOL I see your point now, but from reading that log you really do come off as rude. You might want to reevaluate your phrasing. Can you point out anything specifically, aside from the "qq" which was a response to his BM? Well, the first line makes you come off as sort of aggressive. It doesn't have to, but it can be interpreted like that. I would just suggest you being more polite and clear right from the start when messaging an opponent like this. Something in the lines with "Hi. I just wanted ask you regarding your response in the match we just played. Is there any particular reason for your reaction (since it's not that common)?" That might be an exaggeration, but that's how I look at it. How is "why steal my gas and not prepare for a 4 gate" in any way aggressive? There are no swear words, no insults, no implications of any kind. It is, literally, a question about strategy. I have no idea how one can infer anything else from it. I was thinking he'd have some reason for it, because you don't just go 3-gate forge with a gas-steal randomly, especially at the 2200 level in diamond. Because you won and it's basically rubbing it in. He was wrong to steal your gas and you're telling him to admit it. At least, that's probably how he perceived it. I'd be annoyed with you, too if you did that to me. It's not wrong at all; gas-stealing is a perfectly valid strategy. I do it sometimes myself. Not sure where you guys are pulling these assumptions from, but they make little to no sense. Message someone after a win = LOL U SUCK NOOB UNINSTALL PLZ Did not know that. Sorry, it's one thing to ask a question after a match you won, however it's another to message someone after they ask you to not message them. Everything you said after don't message me was BM, and it was all you. Thats right you were actually in the wrong. I hope you actually try to detatch yourself emotionally form this and actually read what people are saying and learn. Please do. Please do. You've never been mad after a loss? he does something stupid, and is mad after, you don't even soften your question with a positive remark to make it clear you're not trying to troll... then when CLEARLY shows he's raging and simply asks you to not message him you tease him and post his comments on the internet as him being a jerk. Do that same thing in person, and you will be in a fight. And everyone there will think you deserved it You are completely, 100% wrong. EDIT: Why is the burden of proof on me to prove I'm not trolling? Christ, this is why nerds are portrayed so poorly -- because most of them are so anti-social. Lol, dude. Its pretty ridiculous that youre accusing these guys of being anti social, but you yourself seem to lack the emotional intelligence as to why asking this guy why he made a dumb mistake would be annoying. Whenever I want to rub it in and/or make someone admit their idiocy out loud, I would ask them why they did something so they (and I) can hear themselves saying it. Example: "Why would you even think about driving home after taking 10 shots of 151?" I am trying to get them to tell me their rationale out loud because I want them to realize how stupid they are. What is the point of wanting to hear the reasoning behind his decision making? It wont help you because it obviously cost him the game. The only reason I can think of is if the decision was so bizarre that "I didn't think you would do what you did" can't possibly be a logical explanation (say if he scouts mutas coming his way and decides to pump zealots). I would just put it in statement form next time under the pretense of giving friendly advice. Chances are hes gonna try to defend his actions with whatever thought process he had too if he doesnt think youre being an asshole.

Example: "Why would you even think about driving home after taking 10 shots of 151?" I am trying to get them to tell me their rationale out loud because I want them to realize how stupid they are. I wasn't trying to rub anything in. I was trying to potentially acquire a new "weapon". Presumptuous of you to assume otherwise. As I mentioned several times already, it was interesting. Just because he lost doesn't necessarily mean his strategy is bad. I would just put it in statement form next time under the pretense of giving friendly advice. Chances are hes gonna try to defend his actions with whatever thought process he had too if he doesnt think youre being an asshole. True. But it isn't exactly common practice to write rough drafts and go through several rounds of editing just in case some qq'ing 17-year-old can't deal with his losses properly. Not to completely derail the thread but you are either really young or you are one of those kids who is often responded to negatively in person and can't understand why. You need to take your ego out of your reply's and actually read what people are telling you. To put it in a real world example: "You watch a soccer game and a goalie misses an easy stop, the other team scores and the goalies team loses. Right after the game you come up to the goalie and ask him "hey, why did you not block that shot, it was an easy one to get?" How do you think he is going to react? Do you think he doesn't know that he screwed up? You are rubbing his face in his loss, its not a mystery why he is pissed. I would be pissed to. The last thing you want to hear from the guy who just beat you is how you screwed up. Its not the communities fault that people are reacting badly to what you said, its your fault. If you come in a forum, post something, and every post disagree's with your analysis, thats not because sc2 gamers are antisocial. Its because you are wrong. Deciding that you are smarter than everyone else who has replied is arrogant. This feeling is further reinforced by your smug assertion that "hey I don't take the ladder seriously, why does anyone else?" No one asked how you feel about the ladder, it doesn't matter. Its not an issue in this situation. The community isn't anti-social. You are just not listening to it. You seem like a nice guy, just take your ego out of your thinking and read what people are saying. You will save yourself a lot of grief in this game, and in real life. To the actual thread topic. I get matched against another T (TvT) on Steppes of War. I go MM with a few tanks and an expo. He fails a proxy rax, then matches my MM +tanks with ghosts and nukes. He fails to push up my ramp, I take a third and transition into tank+viking and take map control. He responds with mass thors after I deny his third (he can do this due to his 3k minerals and 1k gas..). I decide I can just keep massing tanks off of 3 factories to counter his thors (I can't) and I lose. Last two lines consist of this: Me: gg Him: noob Not real exciting BM but jesus, isn't winning the game enough for people D:

I lol'ed I have a friend who played Human in war3 and somehow got into a stalemate with a guy who played UD. All my friend had left was a Paliden near his last building. The UD tells him to leave, my friend refuses. This is how it goes down: UD Guy: Leave newb My friend (human): Come kill me UD: I can wait as long as you can Human: Ok My friend then turns off his monitor, gets up, and goes to lunch. He comes back hours later (not an exaggeration, literally hours later). The game is still up. My friend then creeps the rest of the map, gets his Pali up a few levels, goes over to the UD's base and starts killing his army with the shield on (makes him invincible for a short amount of time). After about 15 minutes he kills the UD and wins the game. He still has the replay, its huge. (The UD was also afk of course, just hadn't ever returned)

I surely hope not. In fact, after games -- win or lose -- in all major US sports, coaches and players answer questions from the media, often dealing with crucial decisions that led to a win or loss. I dont take SC losses too badly unless it was something I felt I should have avoided, in which case I wouldnt take my anger out on my opponent. But its still understandable why other people might find it offensive. Since its all text, no one can hear your tone when you say what you say. Being pissed off at a loss and knowing the prevalence of internet BM, its not strange that he would assume that youre just being a douchebag. This was just a misunderstanding. What an idiot. You fucking won with a 4gate. Whether or not it was the "right decision," he probably didn't give a shit after a gas steal. If you already know that he "should have prepared" for a 4gate, you gain absolutely nothing by asking him why he didn't "prepare properly." You're basically typing to him, "why did you play so badly to my 4gate." Christ kid, you're really that dense you don't understand why you look badly? He even told you not to message him, and you think THAT is QQ or BM? No, then you're just trolling the kid you just 4gated. You're awful. Hypocrisy at it's greatest.

ok, i am a 3v3, 4v4 terran player and i started from bronze and advance to gold (rank 1) now pending for promotion to plat... i can't be bothered with the "avatar" and i leave it at the default. so today, i was playing another 3v3 opp was slightly favored, 2 protoss and 1 terran. My team consist of all terrans. The BMer was going for banshee and i am doing 5 rax push, the other team mate was going mm as well. As usual, he built his 1st banshee and went on to harass the mineral lines, it was at the 7min mark and i move out with my MM mix and went on hitting the ramp of opponent. Noticed 1 carrier at the ramp with basically no ground units, and i broke through the wall and got into their base. Basically i took out the nexus and then come the cavalry from the other team mates, and i lost all my units. In the mean-time i ping my team-mates that there are carriers... Still continuing macroing and upgrading my MM, i move out 2nd time when my units are at 1atk and 2 Armour.... hitting the wall again, and in the process killing off 1 carrier with 2 remaining... and then the BM hero came with 6 vikings (no upgrade) and 4 banshee... at this point, i have 6 rax and tons of marines and muraders.. he killed off 2 carriers, and then he shouted in CAPS... GET ANTI-AIR YOU NOOB..... in the mean time, i was too busy killing off the 2nd nexus and 2 members of the opponent left, leaving 1 terran behind. I asked him, is he calling me a noob? He then went out shouting that we did nothing, and he basically kill off all the enemy... i was bluffed, he did harass with banshee BUT not getting any bases.. with 3atk 3armour now.. and tons of marines, in what way they are not anti-air for 3 carriers? anyway, i asked him to watch the reply before he start calling me a noob, and then all the nice words came out and tell me to stop playing SC2... and he even claimed that his "6" vikings can kill off ALL my units.. with NO upgrade....... So eventually, the enemy terran managed to push up with thors and tanks and literally kill off his main while i am clearing off the enemy bases with my MMM... after the game, i checked his stats.... he is a BRONZE player at rank 26.............. sorry for the long posts, but i have to get it off my chest...
