Hey, I had to reinstall my Starcraft because i was playing the offline crack. I now have to deal with the fact I have to download all the patches which will take forevor to do with the blizzard patcher. Now i went Here
and downloaded it. I placed it into my Starcraft 2 folder and it auotmaticly made an update folder. Then when I start starcraft 2 all the files get deleated and there is no patch implemented. Can someone describe how you properly manually patch the versions?
Dude....I love Starcraft.

you dont need to do that. install, create a realmlist.stf(explained in many posts) and youll just have to dl one 900mb patch and youre good to go.

I don't know if you tried it yet, but when I reinstalled and tried to update it downloaded and installed straight to Patch 16, which is much less painful than it used to be.

(if you get stuck with it launching the game and not wanting to update, make a text file in your support folder, give it the line:
set patchlist eu-beta.patch.battle.net:1120/patch
and save it as realmlist.stf)

I have already done this exact thing but it continues to not want to patch. Believe I have to patch to 4th to get the stf file. Cause a .txt file named .stf isnt a stf file I believe.

You don't need to patch manually because the update servers are online once more. You just do a fresh install and then make a realmlist.stf document in your support folder as described here.

If you still want to patch it manually all the info you need is in this thread.

Maybe try to search next time before you post, follw teh Commandments :p

Also welcome to TL.

You take each file in each patch .rar, drag it into the /support/ folder, rename it to sc2-patch.mpq and run the Blizzard Updater. Delete the sc2-patch.mpq file when finished. Do this for the second file in that .rar file, then the third file, and so on. Do this for all files in that .rar file. You must also do the patches in chronological order.

Patch 1:
File 1, 2, 3 ... n
Patch 2:
File 1, 2, 3 ... n
.
.
.
Patch 16:
File 1, 2, 3 ... n

You're done.

And so on. It's really tedious but this is the way to do it.

But i have a completly fresh install. I went to the folder...I created a text document pasted in the exact words. And nothing changed.
Edit* I apologize if I come off as a noob it just doesnt seem to be working too well so far. I have windows vista 64 bit...which says it all.

Make sure you have "Show file extensions" enabled. Otherwise it will be saved as realmlist.stf.txt, which in fact doesn't work.

Edit: It's actually "Hiding known extensions" disabled...

it has to be a .stf file in the support folder. instructions are in the patch problems and new patch threads. most likely you just have a .stf.txt file which obv does nothing.

if you start the game then it will load something small and then go straight to the 900mb dl for the current version.

If you haven't found a solution yet.

Start with the sc2-0.2.0.13891-0.3.0.14093-x86-Win-enUS-bnet-base file, then rename it to sc2-patch.mpq

Move it to the support folder
Double click on the Blizzard Patcher
delete the sc2-patch.mpq file

Then move down the list.

It only works when you start with the very first patch file. Also you only need the patches 1-8 as you have in the first post then it'll download the latest patch 16 from the server.

Agreed on that!

I'm patching following the same note (7 x64) as I type this. While the US servers are down, the EU servers aren't; hence, my applying the MegaPatch from there. (Yes; US clients can patch from the EU servers; it's just slower.)

TIP (Vista and 7, especially 64-bit): to speed up the creation of the realmlist.stf (a custom text file), launch Notepad as an Administrator (you can launch *any* file as an Administrator by right-clicking on it, and selecting Run as Administrator).
Bad news, fellas
