(if you get stuck with it launching the game and not wanting to update, make a text file in your support folder, give it the line: set patchlist eu-beta.patch.battle.net:1120/patch and save it as realmlist.stf)

Patch 1: File 1, 2, 3 ... n Patch 2: File 1, 2, 3 ... n . . . Patch 16: File 1, 2, 3 ... n You're done. And so on. It's really tedious but this is the way to do it.

Delete the sc2-patch.mpq file when finished. Do this for the second file in that .rar file, then the third file, and so on. Do this for all files in that .rar file. You must also do the patches in chronological order. Patch 1: File 1, 2, 3 ... n Patch 2: File 1, 2, 3 ... n . . . Patch 16: File 1, 2, 3 ... n You're done. And so on. EDIT* I dont have .rar files it comes with 2 files for each. sc2-0.2.0.13891-0.3.0.14093-x86-Win-enUS-bnet-base sc2-0.2.0.13891-0.3.0.14093-x86-Win-enUS-bnet-bin sc2-0.2.0.13891-0.3.0 sc2-0.2.0.13891-0.3.0.14093-x86-Win-enUS-locale sc2-0.3.0.14093-0.4.0.14133-x86-Win-enUS-game sc2-0.3.0.14093-0.4.0.14133-x86-Win-enUS-locale etc...

Cause a .txt file named .stf isnt a stf file I believe. no. just fresh install + .stf = bnet ready version. i did it myself. it works 100%

And nothing changed. it has to be a .stf file in the support folder. instructions are in the patch problems and new patch threads. most likely you just have a .stf.txt file which obv does nothing. if you start the game then it will load something small and then go straight to the 900mb dl for the current version.

Start with the sc2-0.2.0.13891-0.3.0.14093-x86-Win-enUS-bnet-base file, then rename it to sc2-patch.mpq Move it to the support folder Double click on the Blizzard Patcher delete the sc2-patch.mpq file Then move down the list. It only works when you start with the very first patch file. Also you only need the patches 1-8 as you have in the first post then it'll download the latest patch 16 from the server.

You guys are informative and smart and friendly. Thanks again Agreed on that! I'm patching following the same note (7 x64) as I type this. While the US servers are down, the EU servers aren't; hence, my applying the MegaPatch from there. (Yes; US clients can patch from the EU servers; it's just slower.) TIP (Vista and 7, especially 64-bit): to speed up the creation of the realmlist.stf (a custom text file), launch Notepad as an Administrator (you can launch *any* file as an Administrator by right-clicking on it, and selecting Run as Administrator).
