I'm mostly curious about:
DeMusliM (apparently his original bnet WC3 name was DeMusliMhobo or something t.t)
CauthonLuck
TheLittleOne
White-Ra
Any of these players care to shed some light?

So one thing I must know, what's with the ID? Made the nick because it looked cool, and at the time I saw Muslims as boxers such as Muhammad Ali - I was very young, the ladder name stuck - I do plan on changing it, dunno what to - as I have been invited to events with the demand to change it, or excluded entirely because of it. there you go, from British open (tournament) thread

The T-Shirt story is independent from the nickname, however by coincidence it has a striking similarity. It was basically like this, we both shared one account in Supreme Commander at start and as we bought a 2nd copy we thought it would be nice if we had similar nicknames. At start it was TheBigBrother and TheLittleBrother but there was a clan called The Big Brothers already and I wanted to avoid any confusion with them, so we changed it a bit.

When I first saw DeMusliM's I was just as curious about his playstyle as his name. At first I was like The Muslim? Alright! Then I was like, wait... anti-muslim? That bastard! And then I read that it was an ode to the boxxers he knew when he was little... (and now mainstream muslims are rappers) and it's chill. As a muslim I don't see it as offensive in any way, it's a good tag.

As for Idra: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idra I know Idra looked jewish. As for DeMuslim you clearly can tell he ment it as "The Muslim", not "Not Muslim". I still don't see how people could be offended. And Christian is actually a fairly common first name so that wouldn't be offensive.

Despite having studied (well, got it at school) Latin for three years, I butchered it: Theoretically it should be "InNomineDei", since that means In God's Name. I wanted to make it "Out of God's name" because I'm anti-religious, so the Ex is excusable (see what I did there... ![]() Anwyay, I think names are made up at the spot a lot for most people, but a lot of people also actively think of a new screen name to pick and just base it on something they think sounds cool or has a nice theme. Pros were normal players once, so they just chose a name and stuck with it. Look at the power rankings: 1. Flash 6. Kal 2. Effort 7. Fantasy 3. Jaedong 8. YoonJoong 4. BaBy 9. Midas 5. Snow 10. Shine[Kal] Flash, Effors, BaBy, Snow, Fantasy and Shine are all just 'cool-sounding English names', especially for Asian people who in general love everything American (I am European btw), the other names are a lot more Korea-centric: Jaedong, YoonJoong, and possibly Kal are probably simple-sounding things that work in Korean well (and just sound awesome in English-speaking countries for the same reason English sounds cool in non-English speaking countries), and Midas, well, that name has popped up in books and tales quite often. Greek mythology is probably the oldest rendition of it, iirc. tl;dr: - Names chosen randomly (DeMuslim, etc.) - Names chosen because they sound cool (Fantasy, Flash, etc.) - Names chosen for a certain theme (TheBigOne, TheLittleOne, etc.)

(though it is confusing/awesome) Anyway is Losira named after the Star Trek character of the same name? This is really bugging me, there's no information in either liquipedia about his name. I've tried googling this and surprisingly cannot find anyone who has brought up this link before. Does anyone know for sure? Am I the only one who thinks this is completely awesome? Holy mother of god that was a necro and a half. Does he have a Twitter? You could ask...I don't know how much exposure Korea would have to that kind of thing Lol. Dear Losira, Are you named after the commander of a super secret military outpost whose commander configured a defense computer that almost killed Kirk right before her entire race was wiped out by a deadly plauge a few thousand years ago? It was in a cheesy 1960s American Sci Fi show. Thanks.

Anyway, about white-ra, I do believe it's because he likes the colour white, and Ra was the sun god for the ancient egyptians or something similar. I have to ask this though. As a swede I've reacted to something about ThorZaIN's nick. Because if you take away the capital letters, the word "hora" is left, which in swedish plain and simple mean "whore". No trolling. Does anyone know more about this? Is it even intentional? It's been boggling my mind for so long, but I've never know where to ask, nor how to google it. ^^

At 20:45 Artosis mentions how he started out with a name that was something like "Artmage" and how for a time that was his main name. Then, I believe its through a friend or something but he comes across the name of a KoRn song (from the Follow the Leader album) called "Cameltosis" and really likes the second half of that name. So he combines the first half of Artmage and Cameltosis and he gets...dun dun dun: Artosis. EDIT: Its actually pretty cool how early in his life Artosis realizes that he wants to make a career out of video games in some way and that part of doing that successfully will involve having an original and recognizable name. I highly recommend watching his Real Talk episode

I thought I was hearing Arcmage but for some reason I couldn't reconcile the name combination without hearing it as "Artmage". Silly me. This chronic is really top notch though so you can't blame a negro. Or can you?
