Yes, the plan is for this initiative to last as long as they don't actually fix (some of) the major problems with bnet 2.0. I'll link them fromt he other thread: 1. private chat rooms. 2. cross server option 3. add friends via ID input / search / Unique IDs 4. password protected game 5. Lan enabled after authenticate through b.net 6. rep watching with other players 7. HL-counterstrike style live Broadcast, allowing thousands of people watching the game via sc2 as if they are an obs, at no lag expense to the players. (3rd party simply broadcast action input, faster than video stream also) 8.Tournment bracket feature, allow creator to easily update/others to view the bracket. 9. If one player drops, b.net auto saves game at that point so the players can recreate/play. like sc1. 10. If host is afk in custom games, there is a "vote new host" feature (credits go to glider for comprising such an all encompassing list, will updat OP with this in.

on a similar note, why do people have such little faith in blizzard, they have proved time and time again that they value the community response more than anything else in terms of balence and features. i wouldnt be surprised at all if come release day they implemented chatrooms and kept it hush hush to give everyone a huge surprise, due to the non-chalance they have been treating the issue with they obviously have plans. but lets face it, this game is not broodwar, blizzard is moving with the times, shouldnt everyone else?

Yah im guessing you havnt been paying much attention to the community feedback for the past couple years. The community has made thousands, if not tens of thousands, of posts regarding BNET 2.0s problems.

It's a different topic... This "Esports" thing is the most visible and fun trick betatesters can do to Blizzard. But unfortunately it focuses on one of the less important problem which will certainly be fixed. I dont see how a multiplayer game where everybody can have the same name could be released. However, as Blizzard doesn't say anything about that, it's worthy to make them see... We never know, maybe they didnt notice... About all other MAIN Battle.net issues, Blizzard did communicate about it, and when they say "No", or "Later", it is "No" or "Later" and not "Hey, SURPRISE on Day 1 !!". It would be a very confusing communication campaign. They may change their mind and release what we want on Day 1, but for that we must complain/discuss before.

but lets face it, this game is not broodwar, blizzard is moving with the times, shouldnt everyone else? if you think no chat lobbys, no cross server options and no LAN is the future, i feel sorry for you / blizzard.

If only you would've read the original post instead of just bashing and being negative. The reason for this campaign is not to whine or to rage, nor have i said i'll cancel my pre-order. I'm going to buy the first game at the very least, even if it has all the glaring lackings of the beta, but i will not buy the 2nd or 3rd game if it ends up remaining to be insufficient. And yes, I too had high hopes for this game and blizzard, but sadly they've not shown us that they listen to the community nor did they show us that they have very good insight in what is needed for competitive play up till now. It sadly feels as if starcraft: brood wars was a fluke.
