Obviously, those of you who have put in your time and effort to this website deserve a key. I realize how awful it looks for someone with such a low post count as myself, self nominates in this competition. My apologies, and good luck to everyone else still on the list! Thank you for posting. No hard feelings, really -- don't worry about it.

Yes, and in general what's the point of saying "I'm sorry"? It would make you look weak and blablabla. You can instead pretend you were right (even when you know you were not) or just shut up and go away. Have balls people! Never appologise!

To clarify, this isn't a thread for self-nominators to apologize or grovel. A lot of them took plenty of abuse that probably wasn't deserved -- it was just users attacking them on a bandwagon. Many probably regret self-nominating, and this thread could be their chance to prove something to themselves or others.

This idea was genious, i giggled like mad :D that doesnt even make sense. you lose integrity by opting out after this thread, because youd have a real hard time to make people believe that you didnt to it out of peer pressure and to save face, or because you thought that maybe the ones opting out would get the key while the others would not. most of the people opting out arent believable at all. On April 18 2010 00:01 Hot_Bid wrote: You get some amount of mental closure and earn a measure of admiration from your peers. Everyone who has opted out has been received rather well. If everyone stays in, nobody will get a key, so you could say you have nothing to lose by opting out. suggesting that theres nothing to lose by opting out seems rather ignorant. it would mean that succumbing to the masses is a virtue, something to be praised for, as opposed to sticking to your decision and thereby remaining believable. the people who opted out and werent very careful with their words only show double standards - not more trustworthy or more deserving than the ones remaining on that list. it doesnt seem like you have thought that through very well at all.

Its your own choice to self-nominate, and I said "many probably regret" had they known the community backlash. They probably thought "oh hey another raffle, I'll enter" without thinking very much about it.
