On top of that, although both of us are relative newbies on TL, I have heard tell that he has already become an illustrious member of the kpop thread. Why I deserve a beta key? I made a loong thread about brood war curses which may have been broken. Besides that thread (which may just have been summing things up everyone knew and it haven't been that contributing) I haven't acted as nthing but an active fanboy for KTRolster. I also nominate MrHoon for being veteran forum member and he recently made a totally kickass comic which cracked the better half up TL.net up. (if he haven't one allready) | ||

Who knows, this may just spur her back into action and give us all more wonderful photos As cliche and dishonest it feels I also really would like to nominate myself, as I have such an interest and drive in seeing ESPORTS thrive, especially in the west. I basically started learning Korean at university just so I could get involved in the ESPORTS scene and that is one of my major goals when I graduate, to become a liaison between the Korean scene and the west, to bridge the scenes of all countries so we can grow the community. (I really wish I graduated this year so I could be in place just in time to see SC2 released) I feel like I'm missing out on an important part of the evolution of the scene, big names will be made even now in the beta, and I'd like the opportunity to be a part of that experience. Considering the large amount of money flying around at the moment just consider what it's going to be like when SC2 is actually released, this game is going to explode and we need people who are passionate about the scene to be in place to guide the development of ESPORTS. If I got a beta key you'd probably destroy my academic record but that's a risk I'm willing to take because I care about this game and this community. I'd been lurking for about a year before I made this account and I'm just amazed at seeing how the scene has exploded with first the announcement of SC2 and then the release of the beta in particular. Jaedong says it best when he says "I love TeamLiquid!" | ||

Many of my friend have won and I would love to be able to play this game along with them. I watch streams, I read all I can, I do everything I can to get better at this game short of being able to play it myself. I feel I represent the middle of the pack. I'm not fast enough to win typing races to enter keys. I'm not educated in the right fields to win keys in R1CH's give aways. I feel that keys have always been given out to the best and I suppose that to be just. The reason I feel I should have a beta key isn't because I feel I can give any of the pros lessons on how to be more gosu but I do feel like I could be a good stepping stone for new players to learn from. The missing link if you will. It's near impossible to go from noob to pro just by watching the pros. I feel like I could be a more erect version on the evolution chart that a new comer could see and learn from on the course of being a great Starcraft 2 player. To inform you that I'm not a complete noob. I've competed in games since the age of 8. I played every Blizzard RTS among many others. I still compete in many games out side of RTS and I would love to add Starcraft 2 to that list because I feel that I could be a very good player. | ||

This is my first post and I really need StarCraft 2 beta key. I started playing Brood War when I was 7 years old( now I'm 16) and I love the game. I go everyday to Teamliquid site and look for new posts and news. TL is the best!! And I have brother who also wants to play SC2. So we both could play it and the key would go into double use. I hope we see in the beta and remember to watch Day[9]'s stream. | ||

This initiative came up to supply a huge demand for SCII commetaries on high level play for the spanish speaking community. I'm using FRAPS and Sony Vegas for rendering. Still learning the tools as you can see on my youtube channel (a couple of failed rendering tests uploaded) youtube.com/chirievalord but as soon as I'm done with this I'll be ready to upload at a fast rate. How would a beta key benefit this taks you may ask? Well, I can only check and record replays on a friend's computer who got a beta opt in invite so this is reaaaaally slowing me down. I would love for TL to consider the latin american and the rest of the spanish speaking community by donating a key to us! This facebook crap has sunk my F5 key already... Since 10years now I've been a big fan of starcraft. When i say fan I mean, I never really stopped playing and since 5 years now I've been following and watching pro-scene. I called sick at work when beta came out because I had high hope I would get a beta key, but I finally ended up watching stream depressed that I couldnt play ( Its a good thing i called sick because i was'nt in a good mood anyway)So yea this is why i deserve it. When my employer told me I wasn't allowed to keep a personal blog anymore, TL is where I started to post my blogs, and I'm really happy to have had everyone who's been reading them and offering advice and criticism on my writing style to talk to. It's made a massive difference. Without TL I probably wouldn't be writing as much as I am now... Why should I get a beta key? Ever since I visited Korea nearly 2 years ago, I flipped on to the mbc game channel, watched a Luxury vs Best Ever OSL semifinals match, and I was hooked. I was rooting for Luxury, but it was still a great series. Ever since then, I have watched e-sports religiously and played Starcraft. If you ask me a question about any progamer, I can answer it for you. You know, I used to think gaming was nerdy, because I played basketball and football for my school, but ever since that one visit, I have asked many of my friends to play starcraft and watch Korean VODs. I even started a Starcraft club at my school. And then I found TL. It was the ultimate site for me. I check this page at least 10 times a day. I only became a member a few months ago, but I have signed up for the R4 fantasy season and i am doing liquibets. I wish I could post more, but I just don't think I'm good enough to give people advice yet. As for the Starcraft 2 Beta, I opted-in on Blizzard since the beginning, and still nothing. I have made 5 accounts now, but still nothing. So I entered numerous contests on different webstites including TL, but I have not won any of those. One day on facebook, I waited a whole day pressing f5 all day just for a chance at a precious beta key, but still nothing. My computer specs are fine though because I just bought a brand new toshiba labtop just to play SC2. It cost 700$ and had very good specs like core 2 duo processor and good graphics card. I would do just about anything right now for a beta key. My friends also want to play SC2, so if you give me one, I will most definitely share my account with friends.. Please choose me and send me one | ||

LodiDodi should definitely get one of the beta keys. He visits TL daily to read the discussions on strategy and patch changes. While this is his first post it is only because he is held back by his lack of experience in SC2, a problem which a beta key would quickly remedy. Despite this limitation he will add more and more to the community in the next few days as proof of his devotion. LodiDodi is not only a big fan of SC2 and TL but he is in general just a great human being Many a time I have come to him for advice and guidance and he has been my lighthouse in the storm of life. I'm a lover of RTS games since the first real game I ever got on a PC, Warcraft 1, I played it until my fingers nearly bled, I loved the idea of having to harvest something, to be able to get something, and with Orc's badass red eyes glowing, it was hard not to just stare and drool while your peons shop away wood to fuel the war. Anyway, as most here would probably know, the amount of -good- RTS games out there, as of late, is extremly slim, I've barely been able to play any at all since so many just seem so lazy, badly made or just plain retarded. Having a chance at getting a beta key, to take part of what is most likely going to become THE thing in RTS gaming, what properly got me into PC gaming in the first place, is extremly important and a really big deal for me, and knowing I can make a diffrence in giving feedback in Starcraft 2, is amazing. I'm here now making this nomination, hoping I'll get a chance to be a part of it, becouse being in EU, it's quite hard im finding, to get key elsewhere. (Maybe I just got bad luck <.<) I got to honest, I've always shyed a bit away from these forum, becouse what basicly everyone is saying, this is the place where the elite of RTS games show themselves, so I was kind of intimidated by it I hope I'll be able to be a part of it no less though, and for a fun future, hopefully with SC2 beta being a part of it, so I hope you'll consider me, and thanks so much for reading! ^^ | ||

The only thing i have ever done for TL was telling people that this it is the best place you can get good info about SC:BW. I nominate myself because I know no one will notice me, or nominate me. Here's a little about myself to understand why I want the beta key, because Everyone deserves to have a key. This is my Starcraft Story. True Story! I am pretty new to the Team Liquid community, I mean I haven't even been here a month. However in that month I have been reading alot of posts, posting a few myself, trying to get the hang of it. I come from a small northern town in Ontario, Canada. Population 5000. When I was a kid I discovered Starcraft Shareware, the prequel to Starcraft Original. This was back in 1997, I was Nine Years old. I played this demo version of the game for many years, because I was cluless about Starcraft and How big it actually was. My town didn't even have a Wal-mart, let alone an EBGames or something like that. I know that demo by heart, because I enjoyed it SOOO much I played it daily, and was stuck playing Terran all the Time, not that there's anything wrong with that. Finally in the year 2000, I moved to a slightly larger town, Population 6000. The Wal-mart had opened up in 1998, So we went there and I saw, for the FIRST time a box of Original Starcraft, with the Protoss face. By this time I was 12 years old, I was so excited and I asked my parents if i could buy it. It was relitively expensive back in the day. However I convinced them and played the Original for about one years, clueless to the fact that poeple like Artosis, Liquid'Nazgul, Day[9], Boxer, Yellow, Xellos, even existed. In that year I would go to the public library, where they had High speed, and i'd read the Battle Reports they posted, and man did I ever enjoy that summer, reading reports. In 2001 Brood War finally came by my town, finally. I did not hesitate to buy it right away. I've been playing BW since then. I convinced all my friends to play, but my years of experience was too much for them XD. Sure I was the best between my friends, but B.Net gave me a wake up call. In 2002 we finally got High speed, because we we're on Dial up before hand. This was my first real experience in the B.Net scene, and I got my butt handed to me. I couldn't understand why poeple were so good, not knowing of course of all the strategies already developped. I didn't have a strategy book either. So I decided to quit starcraft online and just played the campaing and between my friends. Once I left for my studies at the University of Ottawa, Population 750000, I began to explore Starcraft again, discovering a long lost love of online play, sure I wasn't good but I played Fast Money maps and Use Map Settings, none of that Low Money stuff. I did that for about two more years, then finally I recently discovered Day[9]. Once I heard the Beta was finally out, which I have opted in for, I wanted to see if it was possible to find some replays on Youtube. To my surprise I found poeple streaming LIVE GAMES. I was so amazed!!!! I didn't even know it was possible. I watched Orb, Husky, I followed StarCraft Method, then I discovered Team Liquid. For me this was a GOLD MINE. Strategies we're posted about not only starcraft and BW but for SC2 also. I was like, how is this possible? So while watching Day[9] and Live tournaments I decided I needed to be part of this community. So i registered and started reading posts and stuff. And to my surprise, one of my friends "XENOENDER, on B.Net 2.0" got a Beta Key. He was kind enough to let me play a few games, and I fell in love again, with the game that is. I've been reading up on strategies and stuff, and Day[9] #100 cast made me want to try to build and participate in the E-Sports community. When I say build, I mean encourage the e-sports community in small towns like the one I was in, because we really have no idea of the magnitude of e-sports and gaming communities. On a different note, I love TheLittleOne's play, he's so Rad. However much Love to all of you How will the Beta help me acheive this? Well I believe that the Beta will allow me to show everyone what Starcraft 2 is, and with the help of Team Liquid, show off how nice and awesome this gaming community really is! I know i'm a comlete stranger, and I don't even post that much, but i'm trying my hardest to get envovled, but it's hard to enter a community when your a newbie like me. Like half the posts in that thread are from him patiently answering peoples computer and hardware questions. Not just one liners, but proper in-depth answers. As someone who's been thinking of builiding a comp for the first time his posts have been invaluable. It's not just limited to that thread, he often helps people out in many computer-related threads. He's not a big poster here, nor is he a huge name in the StarCraft community, but he has done his part, and is dedicated to the game. He has been my main practice partner for SC1 for quite a few years now, and now that I have moved on to SC2, we are having trouble finding a way to play together. He has also helped out in the CSL, both coordinating the UofToronto team with big names like JF, and being one of the honourary practice partners for the UofWaterloo team. I also feel like he has a lot to bring to the game. He was only a C level protoss in SC1, but that was mainly hindered by his mechanics. Being a top level (2000+) chess player, his strategic theory and mindset are really advanced and interesting and I wouldn't doubt him to discover and bring up new strategies in SC2, which is what the beta is really about. In conclusion, jcu for prez! | ||

If you spend anytime on IRC you must know clow. He organized the hilarious XCetron vs Petzergling grudge match and always has great things to say. Really, a great guy who deserves a key! I also want to nominate CynanMachae! He doesn't post very much, but he's a lovable canadian who taught me everything I know about SC. Also, he's pretty much the reason I came to TL. I don't know if my nomination counts for anything, but even if it doesn't I just want to point out the enormous contribution marcoso makes to tl. +1 marcoso nomination. Also, I don't think anyone has mentioned the folks behind the CSL...I only know of hazelynut, DarthThienAn and Xeris, but I'm sure there are more. The work they put in isn't often appreciated, but CSL has brought together starcraft communities in many colleges. Definitely up there in terms of impact they've made on the community. There many worthy nominations but i hope that you'll find my story and reasons worthy a consideration. I'm a fellow StarCraft - Broodwar player/admirer from Mongolia. This game was and is an important part of my life ever since my university-days (Have been playing the game since fall of 1999). Before that i enjoyed playing the original WarCraft back in 1996-97. Besides just playing the game I have also been following the SC scene pretty closely starting 2005, the time i joined TL 5 years ago. Our community is not as big or skilled like in many countries but size and shape doesn't matter to love something. When the new Battle.net site opened last year, I registered my games on it shortly after (03/20/2009 to be precise) and opted in for the SC2 beta when the option came available around last may if I'm not mistaken. Sensing that the beta is on the doorsteps and hoping to get in it eventually I made a big investment and bought a new PC to replace my old P4 in january just so i could enjoy the beauty of SC2 and dont to experience any hardware drawbacks. Finally the beta came out. Hard to describe how pumped i was.. The first wave of invites came, then the second. Feeling disappointed and seeing that I won't get to test the game, i asked my friends and some fellow country-men who play over battle.net to find out if anyone got invited. No one got.. I think the opt-in is so random that few SC followers here have practically no chance to get in beta and thus send/receive friend invites. We are completely cut-off. So here I am hoping again to get a chance to participate in the beta. I don't have many chances to participate in most of win-beta-key contests here or in other places like facebook because of my timezone, couz most of the activities are centered on europe/us timezones. If needed, i could even try to put a good word in for our president about Rekrul regarding his incident so they can maybe become friendly again. What did I contribute or achieve? Admittedly, not much. I was mentioned once in a liquibet wrap-up news because I was placed 4th for MSL events  . I'm quite good at playing Fantasy Proleague: I have an 18th, 24th and 69th place finish to my record, currently I'm 53rd. I've also been among the top 5 traders three times already. Other than that, I post as helpfully as my knowledge of Starcraft allows. I've gone over 2 years and 1658 posts without a warning or ban, if that counts for anything.If I get a key, I plan on sharing it with my two best friends. All three of us are D-/D/D+ rank noobs, but we've enjoyed countless evenings of ICCup, beer and VODs and genuinely enjoy Starcraft. Giving me a key would do three nice dudes a favor. I'm giving this a shot because im tired of sitting in the shadows. I've been following this site for a long time but never became a member so long time reader first time poster. I've been playing SC since I was about 8yo with my brother who introduced me to the game. Ever since then I played blizzard games and till this day still do from WoW to Diablo to SC. The reason im nominating myself is because I want to put the beta to good use and I've been wanting to make this game a big part of my life. Last Saturday, I bought a new computer because the thermal problems on my old computer was hindering me from completing my homework for school and as a result my friend who received a beta key through the opt-in shared his key with me and allowed me to play it. I was able to play the game on the lowest settings and though I am very thankful to my friend for allowing me to play on his key, I would very much like to play with my own key. Even though I opted-in with my new computer specifications, I still have not received a beta key from the latest wave because of my integrated graphics card. But even though it was not my key I was playing the Beta on, I worked towards playing the game as much as I can, reaching a high level with my main race, Terran, and understanding the game more so that I can contribute to the TeamLiquid strategy forum and to people who are playing their first RTS game in their life. I have reached #1 in Platinum Division 43 and have begun streaming for TeamLiquiders to enjoy and learn. I believe in the short amount of time that I actually played beta, I have not just simply kept the information I have gained from the Beta to myself, but actually shared with others about important aspects of the game. For example, s people may know, there is a big debate over the Terran vs Protoss matchup in Starcraft II. Therefore, I worked towards understanding the matchup and presented various solutions that may work in this thread and this thread. Additionally, I have provided I am still playing the game as much as my friend will allow me to understand the game much more and contribute back to the community I love here at Teamliquid so much. For years I have been waiting for a worthy sequel to the Brood War I loved for the last 12 years and now here it is. As my clan buddies such as ZeuS, Stephen, Azz, and rushme and friends such as LuckyFool have moved on to beta earlier than me, I felt left out as I believe I deserved to test the Beta out because of my intense dedication to the game. To demonstrate how much I love Starcraft, I'd also like to state that I am writing an article about Starcraft II for my school newspaper and explaining about the competitive Starcraft community. I honestly believe if I have a key, I will contribute so much to the community as a competitive player. If I already contributed within the first few days I've played Beta, who knows how much I will be able to contribute within the next few weeks that I may have my own key. I hope this is taken into consideration and though an argument can be made that others will definitely contribute to the community as well, I believe that my vast knowledge about the game in general as well as my skill in the game will make me stand out from these people. Absolutely no ego will be involved if I get accepted into this phase of beta. I don't care about ladder rank, or who I can beat. All I'm interested in is to help with testing. I think there is a place for the highest levels of competition to be involved in tournaments and such, to keep the fire and passion alive for the rest of us. However, I'm not going to be good enough to be professional, so it stands to reason that my contribution can and should be toward helping make balance changes and new ideas. I have in the past proposed a number of changes, additions, and/or new units just with the knowledge of watching VOD's and such. Although my ideas may not be popular with everyone, I take a great deal of time effort into crafting these ideas and give fairly detailed expositions, detailing my thought process. I hope at least, that these ideas have sparked some creative thought and interest in the community. Thanks for reading this post. I am a very enthusiastic TL.netizen and will continue to be regardless of whether or not I am accepted into the beta. I started playing BW 8 months ago, after finding out about how huge the community was and the proscene in korea. Finally i had someone to look up to, to idolize, something i never did playing pub games in TF2. So i took the first baby steps, playing 3v3 BGH games just to get used to the mechanincs, before starting playing for real in 1v1 games After 3 months i had hit C- for the first time, and it is soon after this i joined my first and only clan, Avatars of Victory. There i recieved tremendous help and the joy of having teammates really boosted me as a player, something i have never experienced ever in a computer game. Now i've hit C+ and continuously improving. Sadly, with SC2 beta out, most of my team members have completely abandoned BW to play the beta instead, and as a result there are very few people online nowadays. I would very much like to get a beta key, so that i once again can meet up with my clan mates and keep improving as an rts gamer, and also feel the joy of playing with friends. He is the best gamer I know. He played on Neilyo's team recently in WoW, and was a member of the guild <sup fresh our turn baby>, ex #1 PvP guild in the world. He played 250 games on iccup the first season he was even introduced to starcraft. He used to play Soulcalibur competitively and won a couple of tournaments in georgia before Brood War and WoW. I just think someone of his skill deserves a key; he literally just goes god mode at any game he puts his mind to, He's already said that his next game will be SC2. His is also a very good mannered guy, never loses his cool. When day9 talked about froz on #100, it reminded me of my friend immediately, that's how he is. I've been an active player of Starcraft for 10 years now. I opted in to the SC2 beta back in October and nothing has ever came. I have payed $100 dollars for a beta key on craiglist and got scammed ( surprise surprise ). I traded a diablo 2 account that I worked on for 5 years for a beta key and once again, the key was a fake. I have done honestly everything in my power to get a key and I just fall short every time. Last thursday I sat and watched the SC facebook page for almost two hours until the key finally came up. It took me about two seconds to type it in and they were all already taken. Same thing for Friday. I have a visual disorder where I can't read sequences of numbers and letters well. It comes in short bursts. Thursday and Friday it was fine, but lately I've even been having trouble reading, so the Facebook keys are impossible for me. I want a beta key so freaking bad, I watch about five hours of low quality beta stream every day. And to top it all off I have made around ten battle.net accounts and none of them have received a key! I don't understand it. So please, please, please, please, please, find it in your e-heart and give me a key. I am open to say it, I am a full fledged nerd, I love video games and I have a passion for Starcraft. If you give me this, you will seriously make my year. -Zakk, please teamliquid, help me. | ||

We're all huge fans of SC E-Sports in Korea and following as many foreigner as a person can. We've only been around TL for close to a year give or take a little, mostly as lurkers but I feel like my lack of contribution is solely related to the lake of experience in BW and lucking out on being opt in for the Beta. I myself have done a lot of beta testing with in a few games and was just as exciting to play SC2 as I was to help out test it and I'm still looking for that chance to get involved, even if that ends up being at its release. So from all of us (Floater, Str8ball, Trooper, Scoopable, Shovel, Allen, Krisper, few other friends and myself), thanks TL for an extra chance at playing the beta before its over with. | ||

Blizzard speaks out about the Macro and Autocast Was the article I nominate him for, I think the linked paper he wrote was a very good game design paper. I think Marcoso should get a beta key for the tremendous amount of work he keeps putting into the Small VOD thread. I was one of the few who posted VODs regularly when Yakii left for the army. I only did this for a few months, but I can tell you this takes a LOT of time and effort. A lot more than one would think, really. Marcoso has been doing this for quite a while now. He already got a star for this, but I guess he totally deserves a beta key. On the other hand, if he starts playing SC2, who will post VODs then??? Thanks Marcoso (and Yakii!) anyway! I'd like to share an example of an overpowered trick that Michael has found. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, one of the available items is a paper fan that does low damage but has an extremely low cooldown. When you hit a character with it, that character is stunned (unable to move) for a longer time than it takes to hit him or her again with the fan. If there is a way to escape the infinite lock, I don't know it. Most players would hit you a few times with the fan, get bored or feel they're being cheap, and then mix up their assault. Michael, however, would hit me repeatedly until my damage was so high that any medium or strong attack would KO me. The man has no shame when it comes to exploiting something like that to win a game. In our household, if you thought a tactic was cheap, you either figured out a way to counter it or you adopted it yourself. Whining about it never got you anywhere (not that that stopped us). Two years ago I was one of sixty entrants in an SSBB tournament at my college (St. Olaf). It was 4-player FFA, stock 3, with all items on (except the golden hammer, which the tournament director considered imba). I was skilled/fortunate enough to make it to the final round (on Melee's Hyrule Temple), where I (Pit) quickly discovered that two of my three opponents (DeDeDe and Wolf) were significantly better than I was, and the third (Ike) was at least as good. I got behind on lives, so I stayed away to let the others duke it out. Once Ike was eliminated, Wolf and DeDeDe quit attacking each other and took turns chasing me, probably because I was annoying them by running from battle. All three of us were on our last life--they having taken little damage (low percentages), I having taken much. Then, a smash ball and a fan appeared. I got the smash ball and immediately called down Palutena's Army. The centurions did little damage but distracted my enemies long enough for me to get the fan. I got hit a couple times and somehow found my way to the very bottom of the stage, on a small platform, at 172%. Wolf came down to fight me, and I spammed A as if my life depended on it. PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP went the fan. Wolf was stuck, his percentage rising. DeDeDe jumped down to save him. I kept spamming A, and he got caught in the flurry of fan fury as well. PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP, and finally a fan hit sent Wolf out of the lock, but down to his doom. I kept spamming A. PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP-PAP, and DeDeDe fell in the same direction. Unlike Wolf, DeDeDe was able to pull off an up-B move before he died. My heart froze as the oversized penguin jetted up, but he was pixels away from grabbing onto the edge and fell to his death. I couldn't contain my excitement. I felt like the king of the world. I walked quickly until I was out of the commons building where the tournament was held, and then I ran back to my dorm room. I immediately called Michael to tell him that I had won, and that it was his super-cheap strategy that had won it. It's too bad Nintendo never patched Brawl. If only they had WiseMike to help them address this issue before the game was released, then the best player might actually have won that tournament. + Show Spoiler + | ||

I have no doubt there are people in this community that are more deserving then myself and hopefully they get nominated and win a key. I'm more of a lurker with an account since I rarely post, but I love this site, having spent around 2 hours daily on it(though recently I've been too busy for SC T_T college apps FTL!). Though I probably won't be getting one since there are 23 pages of great people in front of me, I would like to thank TL.net for doing these kinds of things for the community. Rock on! First is that although this is my first post, I've been a frequent lurker of these forums for a while now, and I've always wanted to post a reply to something hundreds of times, just that I was stopped by a major self awareness problem which even extended to not playing BW online and is something that I have recently decided to rid myself of, and I thought that this would be the best way to make a start on that. Second is that I was known in my high school as a major BW fan, and had 'ML2B requiring more vespene gas' in my endearment in the year book. While not particularly good at BW I've always wanted to try and get somewhere in it, and now sc2, since I've put off BW so much, but it's hard to do that when you don't have access to the game, no matter how hard I try to get a key. I do have a very good knowledge of the game that I've acquired through burning up my bandwidth watching streams and such, and would like to finally put it to practice. First off, with a dual core 3Ghz processor and SLI 8800gt's, Blizzard managed to skip over me on both invite waves. My friend irl got in and then proceeded to give his friend key to some random dude in his English class. Second, I've been playing SC1 since I was 13 (now five years), and the fact that there even is a sequel is enough to get me jumping up and down with excitement. I also tried my luck with HuskyStarcraft's recent beta key competition (my entry video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lv-QbkG_qcQ) and proceeded to not even get an honorable mention. I've been trying to get a key through the Facebook giveaways, and, apparently, am unsuccesful. I read a thread earlier about a giveaway from CVG, and of course, whilst I was creating an account with them, they closed the competition for the weekend. Anyways, enough complaining. If I get a key, I'll do that key justice. Though I may not be platinum material, I will play more then a pro-gamer. I currently watch so many replays and VOD's that its painful! TLO's fantastic performance against Liquid'Nazgul has already sold me on Terrans, and WhiteRa's ridiculous switch to conventional on Steppes of War PvP with TLO was so conventional that it was unexpected, and consequentially victorious. Once again, off track. If I get a key, I will dedicate myself to getting into Platinum League and actually winning. My plan is to livebroadcast several games (livestream.com/satallgeese) and then do my own commentaries on my own games to figure out where I went wrong, what I could have done better, and what the other players did better that I could have done. Those will go on my Youtube channel, while I broadcast. My goal, is to be the very best. So come on, help a guy out, will ya? Goodness knows I need it. P.S. Look how lame I look in that video? Although most of you would say this is a big disadvantage, dont be fooled, im a lurker here, i follow starctaft scene a lot, and now have been following sc2 beta scene. Although zerg player myself, i sometimes get annoyed by the terran fanboism here on TL.net. Other than that it's a great community, and usually the dialogue on every thread is so rich, there's no need for me add. Oh, and i did not register here today (did this last year), so you cant bust me saying everybody can make first post asap 2. I opted in on the first day, but, alas, no luck so far. Second thing i dare to say i deserve a key, i passionately hate the key policy blizzard have been following- the people getting more than 2 keys per person (ugh, so unfair), only to sell them later, or people going crazy for keys etc. etc. Sure, im enthusiastic about sc2. Just the odds getting key are really against single individual. Although i wanted to watch replays, i could have got the warez version of sc2 , i didnt do that. I still stick watching streams of people at the moment. 3. Although im not good shape in starctaft 1 atm, i have played it a lot. i was pretty decent in warcraft3 some time ago and few other RTS. Im really a RTS fan, and always play games to a ceretain competetive level, depending on real life factors 4. Although there's a tiny possibility i would be getting the key, im still trying in certain ways, cause i realy love starcraft very much. I hope one or 2 keys of this pile are given to some random people like me, who do not have huge amount of posts or arent THAT accomplished on TL.net Thanks for reading. And even if i dont get key, big thanks for TL.net staff and community for such great things they doing for their members. My latest attempt at getting a key for him was getting second place in the scavenger hunt because motbob owned me with his Google skills T_T motbob opened this blog afterwards where I found that he was doing the hunt for the same reason I was, so I couldn't accept his key even if he wanted to give it to me. I am a massive fan of sc2, im sick of having to use a mates account, playing custom games. i desperately need a beta key so i can play with every1 else. ive seen heaps of replays from nazgul little one=awesome, jinro, the best. Would really like a beat key . OZ representing. Also theres a cybergamer (oz site) sc2 ladder being released shortly and i want to get on top of it when it comes out. also i have alot of connections with the cybergamer admin who will be adminstrating sc2 matches, so thinking for the future of sc2!!! temper | ||

My videocard died and I was sharing an account with a friend. I've just gotten my new videocard back and my friend now uses an authenticator on his account, so I can't share it anymore. I was an avid SC1 streamer (C+/B- on ICCUP) and I was also often streaming SC2 prior to the ladder reset, when my video card died. I'd like to resume streaming also. Firstly, although he is somewhat new to the community, both of us have been lurking for at least a year. Back in the day, when the original Starcraft was all the rage and Warcraft 3 only some screenshots and a deceitfull launch date, me and my best friend, Victor, duked it out regularly on cybercafes .This was in Chile, south america where most people play on cafes as a real gaming pc's aren't affordable to the majority. Long story short, I kicked his ass regularly and did so all the way through WC3 and Frozen Throne. Then I began university, and he got a gaming computer and an internet connection for his birthday. Shortly thereafter I was getting destroyed by his warden/dh gosu micro. Today he is one of the top players in the Latin American WC3 scene. I now live in sweden, but even though distance separates us, we've pledged that the grudge is on in SC2 and we're both super excited about the game. So pleaseTL, give me a beta key so I can ensure my revenge, and help spread the SC2 love around the world! | ||

I do this because I'm desperate. I've tried to get a key on the forum I frequent most, I've tried to get a key in the infuriating facebook contest, I even enlisted my wife to read off facebook keys to speed up my typing, and it was all for nothing. I was never very good at the original starcraft, when I first played it I was in Junior High and on a 14.4 modem; I could only really play custom games and tiny maps, but in my mind I was king of Blood Bath. About a year ago I got back into Starcraft because of GOM Tv and wonderful casting by Tasteless and Super Daniel Man; I still wasn't really any good (D-), but I enjoyed my brief Starcraft revival and have been looking forward to the sequel with almost rabid enthusiasm since then. I love watching Day9, I loved vultures but I can forgive Blizzard for their loss if only I could get into this damn Beta. I have never played a game of Starcraft 2, I guess I'm too proud to beg my friends to let me play for just a little while, knowing my time would be limited, but I'm not too proud to beg random internet strangers so please, please, please, for all these reasons and more, give me a beta key. I promise to be forever grateful and gg every game I lose and to continue posting on this fine website, I won't ever cheese... well for at least a month, and if I get any friend invites I'll come right back here to pass the awesomeness along. Lastly, if nothing I have said so far has warmed your heart towards my starcraft 2less plight, give me the key because I know the difference between your and you're. For all those who mentioned scaramanga I am in full agreement. He has helped the site out via LRing and is now helping with PX. He's been around TL for awhile, deff deserves a key. PX Team When I say this, I mean any single person (most likely Kau) be chosen as someone to get a key. As I am the longest running PX staff member I can say this simply. The contribution of all of us working on it for the last 2 years has definitely earned a Key for the team. Ver This guy is one of the best voices of reason in the sc strategy forum, and his knowledge is insane. Top it off with his contributions to liquipedia and the guy deff has earned one. Qatol Call it shameless promoting, but as one of the areas of the forum is the mafia forum. It has traffic from a regular group of players. Qatol was one of the leading members behind balancing the games, helping new players, creating guides and the like. As a member of the mafia forum, I think he has deff earned one as well. | ||

Me and him have been following Starcraft since we started playing and ICCup and following the Pro scene in 2007. I pretty much lurk TL everyday though I rarely post. He and I currently bet on pretty much every pro league OSL and MSL match (im currently up 100$) Both of us have been dying to try out SC2 and were screwing around with the AI version since it came up. I think every chance we've had to get a Beta key we've taken. (Twitter contest, Facebook Group, Multiple Website contests, etc) So I have to enter us in for this one Hopefully this will be the time we get a beta or one of us at least. I would be a good addition to the pool of Beta users because I realize that the purpose of the Beta is not to have fun with a free game but to help the developers to make the best possible game for official release. This means exploring the depth of the game and attempting novel strategies and tactics in an attempt to separate actual game imbalance from perceived game imbalance from lack of imagination I am willing to put this philosophy ahead of my own win-loss ratio and I have the free time to do it. I love TL.net and I do know that I have made some bad posts out of my noobiness of posting on TL.net but I've learned sooooo much from TL.net and without Team Liquid I wouldn't know about the horror gate and hundreds of other strategies. I've contributed a little bit anonymously to Liquipedia. I would post some replays in the SCII replay thread if I had a beta key. I would write a story about my adventures in the beta. I'll promote TL.net by designing T-shirts with all my friends. I would learn how to design T-shirts. I'll give help and contribute a lot more in the SCII and SCII strategy sections. I was the first person to post the contribution of the announcement of the SCII strategy guide(not that anyone wants it... not even I). Please give me a beta key! I wrote all this just for a beta key! I would right more but I must go to sleep! Well, since I doubt anyone would nominate me since I've relatively new, I will nominate myself. I don't really know what else to say. I played Diablo II when I was like 9 and I'm 19 now. Played WoW for a while, played both exps (can't believe I didn't get chosen beta for those either!!) but no longer play cause its too expensive. Started playing SC like last year, extremely late, but it looks like I came in at a good time now that SC2 is getting ready to come out. Discovered TeamLiquid is the place to be for SC community. I would like to nominate myself. I am sadly late to the SC scene; the first time I played SC BW was about 2 years ago and due to my utter inexperience at the game, I was rolled by more skilled players in every match I played. I was discouraged from attempting to improve in an environment that was so vastly above my level. However, with the advent of the SC2 beta, I have reinvigorated my motivation to improve at SC and become a part of this community. I have played a handful of matches on the beta through my friend's account, and to me, it feels like novel environment that encourages newcomers to RTS/SC, even managing to win several games. Evidently, I am a newcomer to these forums, but I am beginning to discover the wealth of information available here [Day[9]'s podcasts, vidcasts, forum threads, etc.]. With my own beta key, I will be able to supplement the knowledge I am absorbing with significant playtesting. Thanks, Gokain | ||

I also don't have the achievements. I don't have the reputation, and I don't have the community's support. So what am I doing nominating myself? I saw this thread get posted the very same day I decided to finally make my first SC2 Report video. I wanted to be able to bring all recent news and events to the YouTube audience, talking about everything important in SC2 that happens every week. Blizzard info, patches, tournaments, news, and important discussions going on in the SC2 world. Why am I wanting to do something like this? Well first of all, I believe in giving back to the community. TeamLiquid has been, without a doubt, my home for all things Starcraft, and maybe even more. I'm not a veteran poster, but even in my days of lurking, I've found something of an attachment to this site. By doing these videos I hope to reach out and provide just a taste of what you guys have given me. Secondly, we all start somewhere. I don't have high aspirations to become anything legendary in the StarCraft community, but I do believe it is a proper time for me to start making a name for myself. However, I don't gain very much for myself just by being recognized as somebody. I don't need this kind of attention. Rather, I wish to be something of a positive force in this community; something more than just another poster. I know what this key means to every single one of us on this site, and maybe there are others that want it a lot more than I do, but I still feel that I deserve it. I don't want to just report news and articles that I find, I want to be able to connect with the audience by giving in-depth analysis from within the game. I want to understand that game, so that I may be even more effective in my goal. I'm not going to lie and say I'm asking for purely unselfish reasons. I know very well that I will enjoy playing the game to the fullest extent, just as anyone else would on this site. But my use doesn't simply stop at my pleasure. By getting first-hand experience at this game, it gives me an opportunity to give back even more. And this is how I see this nomination process; as an opportunity. I cannot express fully my gratitude to TL and everyone who's a part of this site for the opportunities they provide for us, in small ways and big ways. This key is a big opportunity, and I hope the community finds enough reason in my cause to give me one of the keys. I've been a part of the BW community since '02 even WCGing. I've flamed, talked shit, had good times, had good games, was never the best player, but obsed the best!! lol...
