Blizzard has officially made a Star Craft 2 Strategy Guide. SCII strategy guide
Its currently only about $20(I once saw a $30 one so its pretty good price). I didn't see it anywhere so I thought it would be good to let you guys know if you want to know the lore of the story and/or trash review blizzard's strategy guide when SCII comes out. Please don't flame me for posting this as it is my first post in SCII forum and if this is considered "advertising" then I am truly sorry as I did not mean to do so.

Strategy guides are for people who don't know how to use Gamefaqs. It's just like people buying strategy guides on how to play MMO's people will be this, or friends/family of people they know that play Starcraft will buy this for them.
You have to remember blizzard still has a bottom line, to please the stockholders.
|
Look up and to the right a bit and click Liquipedia
|
|
Hahahaha gotta love it, i bet they haven't even written it yet oh well i'm sure it will still get a ton of pre-orders however i will not be one of them i always liked the live and learn thinking.
|
It will be more based around single player for sure I'll actually buy it for the hell of it.
|
Why do you need a strategy guide when you have liquipedia? Even by watching the current streams and checking out the sc2 forums, you can already learn a lot about strategies, which have been tried over and over again. I would rather rely on the forum power in this case.
|
Guys, a strategy guide is typically aimed at single player. It would be kind of retarded to make one based on multiplayer. I mean they could list the basics, but the metagame is constantly shifting and it would be outdated in a few months. Like what are they gonna do, hire some progamers to write it?
|
I doubt it will have any lore, though I hope it will.WC2's strategy guide was awesome for lore, each of the missiion explanations were done in-character(except for the expansion ones). Reminds me that the manual for SC2 better bring the lore.

Strategy Guides were never really for the strategy, they are more of a novelty item.

It's going to be a fun read I am assuming, it's ridiculous how wrong the game developers often are about their game when making these guides and I am guessing it won't be different this time.

yes yes and yes to all of these. I just felt like letting u guys know. Why do you think I said trash?

Did I ask for one? Or did I imply that TL isn't the place to come if you want to talk about SP?

This i agree with, more like just something to have around the house to remember the epicness that is starcraft 2, maybe hand down to the kids.

If you feel like you need campaign advice then go here. I already know what the 1st mission in campaign for SCII is. Sadly blizz made me sign contract... well at least I got $5 in return.

Looks like a novelty item for collectors or alternatively something for the very newest of players who aren't familiar with RTS games at all.
|
oh wtf, why can't I write the official strategy guide... i'll double whatever revenue sharing plan BradyGames is offering
|
If David Kim, CowGoMoo or InReach have any say in what goes in this strategy guide I'm buying it. Screw you all rahhhh !!

Yes, my father has a PC that he hid under a loose board of the wooden floor of the bathroom at the place he works at. He plays me sometimes and lately has started pawning me lol.

Optical flare is a good counter to reaver drops.
Also, as zerg it is beneficial to have multiple armies so that you can send one to fight while the others regenerate.

"Once you commit to an attack, don't back down. Keep producing and sending units to attack until you break the opposition. If it looks like you aren't making progress, don't give up! You'll win because most enemy players will be too preoccupied with defense to mount an attack of their own and come after you."

Actually, I think their guide may be extremely accurate for once. Which is a frightening thought...
