As a trick to finding the divisions: look for people in your own division or friends divisions, check their 2v2 ladders, check people on the 2v2 ladders and find their 1v1 division - with enough patience you can probably find any division. Easiest to find platinum 1v1s when looking at platinum 2v2 ladders of course.
Anyways, found division 11 this way, leader is ZPr.theamazing if anyone wants easy access to it.

No one really knows how the points work. It is obvious that the points are related to metal ranks individually, and adjusted according to the rest in your division.

haha obviously im making mutas basically every game against Protoss i didnt get this far without knowing that
but when they 2 gate or agressive 1 gate with constant pressure into proxy pylon and warp gate its very hard to match their output while keeping your economy and tech going to the point where you can get a decent # of mutas.

bling vs toss? Sounds like a bad idea. I mean they are really only good versus probes and sentries right? (maybe HT).
What I've been using against standard aggressive protoss is basically a little bit of everything. It is very challenging to say the least.
Open with roaches to defend any zealot openings, then get speedlings in anticipation of the toss's next move, which is stalker/sentry/immortal. Use the lings to scout as much as possible. If you see his unit/gate numbers low, get a lair, evo chamber, and hydra den. He's most likely going pheonix, voidray, or DT. Don't forget to upgrade lord speed and get some overseers too. You need recon ASAP in this matchup, and it's very difficult to get some early on. Try to secure enough gas and econ while doing this so you can switch to mutas.
Ling/Roach with good micro does pretty damn well vs zeal stalker armies. Basically what you wanna do is hit and run with the roaches on all his zeals (unless he has charge, then you need to pull front to back over and over), until they are really weakened or the numbers have diminished a little. Then send the lings in to wrap them or the stalkers. Roaches aren't that bad versus stalkers in a straight up fight either.

Yep... SC2 said "You have been dropped from the game." about 10 seconds into a game vs Idra and then the program crashed when I clicked OK I got a loss off it. My internet did not die or anything during this, it was just some weird issue (I've only had it happen once)

If it's not the worst race it's certainly the hardest.
This does not follow from the numbers. Compared to Terrans, there are about twice as many zergs and protosses in platinum divisions, and there also about twice as many of them in the top 1 position. So the ratio at the #1 spot seems to be the same as the ratio overall - there does not seem to be much evidence for a correlation between race and success.
Maybe I'll do a proper hypothesis test later, I'm a nerd like that.

CowGoMoo posted a replay pack here, from TL's replay thread. Some are pre-patch, but all his games are vs. top players. He plays very safely and has some nice timings, etc. He works in the QA dept. at Blizzard,

I have a laundry list of things I should do better. I am not playing anywhere near as good as players will be playing in a couple weeks from now. I should use better hotkeys for units and buildings, stop getting supply blocked, stop setting rally points to my opponents base when I think im ahead, look at minimap more, macro better etc...

I think that's the point :p Then the questions will be resolved by the end of season tournaments. I like it and can't wait to be put in a Division.
It's actually not a bad system. They just need to put in an easy way to view all divisions (i.e. not through friends list) and a way to view the top players in each league regardless of their division (like Top 100 Platinum Players).

Big word on this, I really like the division system, I just want to be able to press a single button and be shown any given division and the total rankings for an entire league (platinum, gold etc)
that hotsauce guy isn't that great. I played him in a ZvZ and would have owned him with normal play, but I was trying out something new on scrapyard and got rolled stupidly.

I personnally know some of the players with 300-400 games played on this ladder and they all earn much more than 60k a year by playing poker...

It's especially irritating to see "i prefer making 60k a year" with the condescending tone associated to it. I make more than that in a year, and so do a lot of the players playing a whole lot at the moment. We can afford to put a lot of time into gaming because we have financial freedom because we were clever and dedicated to gaming in the first place. Your whole logic is flawed and that post made you sound like a pretentious generalizationist. If you want to try and use the condescending trick on us to cover up your own shortcomings in gaming then at least talk about your (unprovable) social skills instead of the money you make because I doubt you can compete in that area.

This might be a completely noob question, but how exactly do they determine who is in what divisions? like if you're "platinum" caliber, from your testing games, do they just randomly throw you into one of the 12 platinum divisions, or is there a method. What if you go from gold to platinum?

nobody has any clue. As far as the placement goes it doesn't really make sense either. I think I went like 7-3 in placement and landed near top gold position. Played 2 more games and instantly boosted up to 60th on platinum. Then slowly climbing from there, at about 25 now ^_^

if the rating system works like WoW, your placement matches will work sorta like this
Game 1: I have no idea how good this guy is, let's have him fight someone with 1000 rating to see how it goes Game 2: So he's better then that, let's try 1200 Game 3: Maybe 1400? Game 4: How about 1600? Game 5: He lost, maybe he's 1500 Game 6: He won, let's try 1550
etc etc. So someone that gets 7 wins in a row followed by 3 losses will most likely get a better placement then someone that first loses 3 games and then wins 7 in a row because the ranking is more sensitive in the earlier games.

It's not that hard... I think I'm 29-19 right now, and I'm trying to get about 2 hours in a day - it's hard when I work full time, but if you think things out and play strategically, you can improve really quickly. But then again, that's probably my sc instincts kicking in. I'm platinum rank ~25-35 and I'm pretty satisfied, considering everyone around my rank has 100-300 more games played than me.
Now 26 people in division 16. add tabako.tabako to friend list if you want to see that ladder. Wouldn't be surprised if there's already a division 17, with all the new invites that came in yesterday.
