millions of nerds will bend to your will Please god no. Noone really knows these maps, tournaments don't use them, and most of all, they're all extra large expansion+macro maps, which in the current state of the game will favor zerg too much.
|
I guess that's why many pros play on them because they are all zerg.

he has a valid point in saying that no big tournaments use these maps. Only offical blizzard maps, and if you are a pro why would you practice seriously on any other maps besides the ones that you are going to be playing on for cash?
Before you misunderstand, yes pros will play on the iccup maps, however its probably a better bet to just play on the official blizzard maps, especially the more balanced maps, such as metal.

Metal, Xelnaga, and Shakuras are all fine. If anyone complains about those maps it's because they enjoy complaining.
|
Xelnaga sure, shakuras sure, but what about metal? Cross positions seem balanced, but what about close position? It's like steppes of war but with a gold in between the 2 bases. I think day9 explicitely stated in one of the latest dailies that he hates this kind of maps, which become ridiculous depending on spawn positions .

millions of nerds will bend to your will why do you actually think iccup maps are good? I think they're pretty bad. Those maps have huge spaces in middle of map and huge chokes, it would make sense for BW since 200/200 army can't stack into 1 ball, but for sc2 it looks pretty bad.
I think Gods Garden just doesn't work for sc2.

I would like to request that we see more of you playing day9. Maybe you could enter a tournament or something and commentate on your own games after you've played in it. That would be very interesting.
Also, with the help of your daily's and the team liquid forum strategy section I've managed to go from a bronze player to now, 8th place on my platinum ladder since the game came out. One thing in my game which I wouldn't say is lacking is scouting in the cheese area of the game. e.g. I have a sense for when protos is cheesing etc but I would like help scouting effectively and help on how I can react to the other players.
Today on shakuras plateau, I wanted to check to see if he'd expanded elsewhere so I sent one scv to do the 9 o'clock position and 1 to do the 12o'clock position which didn't seem to smooth.

I think Day9 should invite Duffman to his next Fight Night! Duffman's play in game 3 of the XBL $1000 tournament against QXC really showed a TON of potential. I think the unorthodoxy of his play and his electrifying decision making would make a great fight night!

Metal is probably the best map so far imo

What's Funday Monday this week?
|
You have to attack every 5 minutes, kind of a mutation of last week. you can retreat, but you have to commit every unit you have to the attack. He acknowledged that it is a loose rule, but hopefully he finds reps where people really took it seriously.
|
As a bonus for the funday, declare your attack with some sort of battle cry, a different one each time.
