Thor will work if your opponent is going loads of marines (especially when mixed with Hellions). They eat them for breakfast though Marauders present them a bit of a challenge, in decent numbers with medivacs for mobility it can work though. As far as I can tell I'm going to have to play extremely agressive (but without MM it will be non-stop harassment) to allow me to get up 1 or 2 expansions since we're left with all gas heavy units with the exception of the hellions  .Good to see some players are giving it a shot. If you can wall off and place a bunker immediately behind the wall (I tend to place it covering the tech lab and supply depot) then you can hold off early harassment with 4 Reapers bunkered down and the ability to quickly send SCVs if you're attacked to repair. If it drops you'll have to be ready to micro the hell out of your Reapers since any FF and they drop like flies. Problem with teching to air/thor is the amount of gas you're going to require to support that. If you can sustain the reaper harassment and keep your opponent turtled then this is the perfect opporunity to start expanding and all it time to get up and running. You can even go so far as Hellion harassment once your factory is up along with Reaper harassment just be careful not to lose everything or you'll be in for it! Also need to make sure to put down an early second gas in your primary, earlier the better as long as you have enough SCVs gathering. Basically I hold off on my Orbital Command until 19 so I can account for the 3 SCVs on gas #2 I wouldn't normally have (so I have 13 still gathering minerals). In general if you can sustain harassment while teching/expanding and keep your opponent turtled air/thor can be highly effective but it is situational (though if you're successful in picking off units, crippling the economy, etc you're already that much further ahead) . | ||
