I am trying to go mech or mech/air in all matchups in the beta in order to investigate if it possible to stay away from bio in HOTS. I have come up against a combo that I have not defeated one single game so far: Mass Swarm host with mass Corruptor support.
I have tried going mech against it but mass Swarm hosts beats every single ground unit eventually, even siege tanks. I have also tried going Viking/Banshee but I cannot match the corruptor count since Zerg have superior production capabilities.
I have also tried Widows mine/Viking/Banshee but the problem is that I cannot use the widow mine offensively to take out the Corruptors, all the broodings from the swarm hosts kill my mines if I uproot them and try to run them forward. Since the swarm host range is much higher than Viking/Banshee I have to fly away from my mine field in order to engage his Swarm Hosts/Corruptors.
Corruptors reload faster than widow mines and are more pop efficient so even though my widow mines often take out the first 3-4 waves eventually the swarm hosts overwhelm me. If the attack came later in the game I could go mass raven with HSM or BC with Yamoto and Viking/Widow mine supports. But unfortunately the attack hits your 3rd in the midgame before you can get enough BC or Ravens.

You can drop the Z where the swarm hosts aren't, swarm hosts are very food intensive. You can use bio, kite the locusts away, then when they die stim in with a scan and kill the swarm hosts themselves. You can get mech, helions roast the beatles very quickly.
Honestly from my experience swarm hosts aren't very good in ZvT at all because of the range of T units and their mobility.

I usually do a 14 cc vs zerg, and then use large amounts of hellions to gain map control slowing the swarm host push until I can get a decent tank count. I try to keep 12-15 hellions alive to threaten a counter attack so he wont have 10 swarm hosts knocking down my front door.
Because of zerg's ability to make emergency corrupters I don't think its worth challenging the air until you can produce out of more than 2 reactored star ports. Keep in mind that the swarm hosts are supply and gas intensive so you wont be facing brood lord pushes if you can keep pressure with hellions.
I usually die if I get pinned on 2 base, its once you can get to 3 base that you have the money to abuse the swarm host's mobility.
High plat terran, so maybe my opponents and I are just bad.

tanks rape locusts. like really hard. tested it and 7 tanks killed 15 SHs locusts. if your tanks are behind a building you will need only 5 or so. since they cost about the same and are the same supply i recommend going tank heavy vs IP since they are also very good vs infestors.
once you see the spire start building turrets + some mines.
once you see greater spire just go standard mass thor, BH, viking, tanks + as many ravens as you can effort.

Swarm hosts suck in small numbers. Just prevent them from massing them like in WoL. It's what Terrans had to do for years, end the game before 15 min or by screwed by weak lategame.
Also scan for BL transitions.

I use swarm hosts alot in the beta and they are a really good zerg unit if used in numbers. Their major problem is they are immobile so hellion runbys and drops can cause lots of problems.
In the times that I have lost using them vs a Terran it was because they used hellions and drops well, and had enough siege tanks at home to hold off my locusts.
I've never seen a Terran counter mass swarm hosts with an airforce yet I think mostly because of the timing. 8-12 swarm hosts can hit your 2 base pretty quick and you can't really have enough banshees/vikings out in time to threaten that.
By the way to you Zergs, you don't always have to use swarm hosts offensively... I have success making 6-8 of them for defense behind a spine crawler wall then teching to infestors or muta.
