And the way they are doing it seems really good. Gaining bonus for playing with friends ? Good. Bonus if I play everyday ? Good. Don't you guy have any idea the succes daily quests have in WoW ? Or even the succes of the " Win of the Day" in LoL ?
The way the game is right now, with nothing but your own will to motivate you to play IS NOT WORKING. No... TL.net used to be elitist, now it's packed with noobs and casuals. A good thing in my eyes. True. Some guy who just posted here doesn't even know this kind of lvling system existed in WC3 and said Blizz is ripping of LoL. lol!
Yeah it's pretty disgusting to see people on this forum that have no background experience in either WC3 or BW.

Eh... this will kind of be unnecessary imo... It's all about the 1v1.

I am pretty sure that they will somehow tie this system with Blizzard Allstar. Like if you reach certain lv you can unlock BA hero for free or something like that.

I think this is a great idea to give people who are "forever bronze" (read: stuck in their league) the feeling of progress.
Although it really is "nothing" I think it is a good idea to implement.

Wait, so whats the difference from WOL system where you earned portraits and decals with wins o.o ?

I think this might help gain a few new players. Personally it is not for me, but it can definitely help.

Why not, new changes still good (UI, leveling) but no balanced, only 5 new units [?], campaign, new mappool - and i must puy 50$? lol...

soon there shall be also awards to buy for the XP points, like perma +1 for marines or something like this. also let us buy buildings that we can place in game, special building, customized no one else has. or special abilities for existing units. wouldnt mind also pay to get items, OPEN A SHOP BLIZZARD SC2 SHOP.
No, just no. It would be great if we could have skins or decals or whatever, but there should be absolutely no pay-to-win.

This is what i talking about all time blizz invented archiements and lvling and this features so why dont use them like all other games nice nice looks like someone slaped to the face and now wake up coming . Open beta soon i hope too

the important thing is, without good chat channels, no one will care. with chat channels it could be a fun thing.

It's pretty much the same as unlocking new portraits and decals with X amounts of wins. It feels like they're getting desperate trying to add new features.

and how is that a bad thing?

It's not the "exact same" as the current portrait system. It provides for more frequent rewards, will allow for continued progression beyond the current stopping point of 1k wins, a greater variety of decals/portraits, including more customizable and race/achievement-specific rewards, and could potentially allow for more rewards besides just decals and portraits in the future. I personally enjoyed getting to the 1k wins portrait so if this allows for continued progression beyond that AND more frequent and varied milestones, then this is only a good thing.

I am a masters level player and i am really excited for this new feature. seems like a ton of fun and will give players a sense of progress

This looks interesting for sure. I look forward to see how the advance this.

A better idea would be to get units skins, visual upgrades for the levels. Put a different cannon on the tank, different rifle to the marine, different skins wont hurt the game for the pros.
Make it similar to a armory where you gear up your units.
I'm not talking about BIG difference between units just small modifications, I'm sure everyone would love that. I doubt a large percentage of people that play multiplayer care about the lore. Hell you could even have a disable options for people who don't want to see them.

Nice, I like the idea. I won't necessarily pay much attention to it at all, but it's certainly a nice casual feature for HotS to have.

There's a very, very important distinction for casual players who aren't that good at the game... You don't have to win.
|
In ladder? Is that some kind of Halloween joke or something like that?
|
I hope this attracts more casual players to the game, but at least blizzard is trying to change something to their horrible battle.net 2.0 which feels empty. I don't know if these changes will change something, but let's wait and see instead of calling it horrible before it hasn't even been tested.
