Hi,
I'm already playing HOTS, but I don't really understand the game right now. I'm a terran and I'm used to be bad in the lategame, but in HOTS I feel like mech can be very good in lategame and I don't know if it's good to play for the lategame.
Which race has the best lategame in your opinion, and please describe why.

In hots, zerg lategame is epic. Viper's abducts, mass swarmy armies from Siege Mushrooms and Broodlords, and I very love those tentacles from Corruptors, especially when they're in masses too
Protoss lategame is boring as hell, make deathball and a-move to enemy with some force fields.
Terran lategame is nicer, a lot of drops, siege tank lines, mass buildings, ravens, etc

This thread is a bit silly, there are other things to consider than just late game vs late game.

Well in WoL the general consensus is that P has a slight edge in PvT lategame due to chargelot/archon, Z has a slight edge in ZvT due to broodlord infestor, and Z has a moderate edge in ZvP due to broodlord infestor. I don't think too much has changed in HOTS, maybe Terran mech puts T on equal footing in PvT, but neither the P or Z units I think have much of an impact in the lategame.

How does P still have an edge with battle hellions? Wouldn't emp backed with hellions murder everything?

Generally these stats seem about right for people's perception of late-game, but it's kind of a hard question to answer. When it first gets to late game (Zerg starts getting Broodlords, Protoss is maxed with Colossi and high-templars included), Terran usually is at a disadvantage. However, if you look at LATE late game, such as when players are getting perfect compositions, Terran is actually really well off.
TvP Battecruiser / Ghost with PF's is insanely good, unfortunately it's barely seen and the one time it was used in a major game was MVP vs Squirtle where MVP was completely off guard and had his units super clumped.
TvZ Battlecruiser / Raven / Ghost is actually one of the best compositions in the game. I saw a game in WoL of Catz vs Trimaster on Metropolis where Trimaster turtled and eventually got this composition using Vikings and general mech as a stepping stone. Catz had a perfect composition with crazy masses of infestors, but Trimaster just had sooo many Ravens that he could drop dozens and dozens of auto-turrents to wreck expos. Any kind of counter-attacks were crushed by planetary fortress walls w/ missile turrents, and zerg was helpless while ghosts sniped / emped, bc's yamato cannoned, and ravens used seeker missile. Just so much raw power in that composition.
Point is Terran's late game is actually amazing, it's just amazingly hard to actually get to that point.

Protoss and Zerg both start getting some late game units in the mid game. Terrans need to pretty much totally rebuild their armies (bio/tank/medivac) into BC/Raven/Ghost (while also having - IMO - the worst production capabilities).
In games where I've been allowed to get a late game army, I've done very well against P and Z (although I haven't really faced an optimal end game P army to counter an endgame terran force. Also, as a last note, since endgame terran armies are essentially starport units upgrades further add to the cost of tech switching.
