Hi, I was setting up some hotkeys in the beta client when I noticed a section that was called "UI Editor". I clicked on it and became curious. Take a look at what I found: Pictures
Excitingly, I was able to rearrange the build queue and the selection display. I also shifted the mineral, gas and supply counts around, but messed it up, so they aren't displayed correctly.
The basics of it are this:
There is a user interface editor in the new HotS client (opened by the default hotkey Ctrl + Alt + F12) which allows you to move some (perhaps all) elements of the in game Starcraft 2 UI around. I have only spent a short amount of time playing with this, and I also have no idea about this kind of thing. Some of it seems very unintuitive. For example, sometimes you will move something (for instance the mineral and gas counts) and they will disappear if you move them too far, or when moving one thing, another thing moves in tandem with it, or once you have moved it one time, it becomes unselectable and you cannot move it again.
So far, I have had to close the game to reset things if I make a mistake and I cannot undo it. Sometimes I can undo mistakes and sometimes I cannot. There is a limited Ctrl + Z function which lets you undo things about 5 times.
Anyway, I thought maybe you would be interested to take a look at this, and hopefully someone with more of an idea of what this is about can go into more depth to provide us with information.
And as far as I can see, there was no documentation any recent beta information to do with this. If I missed it it's simply because I don't have time to read everything that pops up on the various forums. So what was it you wanted me to read better?
