This is the one thing about the campaign that I am irked enough about to complain about. To me she was significantly worse than Glynnis Campbell - Tricia Helfer lacked the character and arrogance that Campbell had. To me she just sounded like a random Californian chick, and it's not nostalgia - Campbell was clearly the better voice actor. Anyone know why she was fired, by the way?

I thought most of the other voices were done incredibly well.

I think you just have to realize that Tricia really wasn't hired to be the Queen of Blades... It's obvious from the limited dialog in this game and the fact that HotS is the next in the series, that she was hired to portray Sarah Kerrigan, the woman that stole Jim Raynor's heart. So while she's not as menacing and scary in this game as the previous actress was, she's basically doing the exact opposite role.

The previous actress (I've forgotten her name) had like two missions as Sarah, and 30 as the Queen of Blades. She was evil personified, but in a cunning way. Tricia had maybe, what?, 10 lines in this game as the Queen of Blades? She'll be spending an entire campaign (most likely) as Sarah. And in that I think she'll do just fine. I actually enjoyed her voice work, but I'll be the first to admit I find her voice far more fitting for the lovely, and enigmatic Sarah than for the death and claws Queen of Blades.

I don't know about you, but when I heard "Jim?" come out of that last cinematic, my heart skipped a beat. I think she'll be very compelling as the now-vulnerable Sarah.

You do make a good point, I think she may be a better fit as human Sarah Kerrigan. Glynnis Campbell had a very characteristic voice for Sarah, but it was somewhat... "rebellious" i guess, can't think of a better word. So maybe Tricia Helfer will portray a better girly Kerrigan

This is very true! + this post 100% I hadn't even thought of the fact that she will be a better fit for HotS.

Also, while the old kerrigan was great as queen of blades, I found her human kerrigan voice to be obnoxious and annoying.

I really don't know why they completely overhauled his looks. SC2's James Raynor seems so much less generic looking.

I'm disappointed by a lot of aspects in sc2

If you rant enough about what you dislike about sc2, people start to label you as a hater. Well, sc1 is my baby; blizzard, bioware, and valve are my fav pc gaming companies; and I'm afraid big business has a stranglehold on blizz's creative development team.

Kerrigan's been hanging out with only Zerg for the last 4 years. If she sounds less emotionally invested in her talking, maybe it's because her only conversation has been BLLEHHRRAAGGRRAAA for quite a while. At least, that's a good excuse :p
