@evilfatsh1t how's the coverage/reception on the hwang ui-jo secret sex tape filming scandal going about in domestic circles? my korean isn't that good enough these days to peruse fmkorea/mlbdonga etc

i dont use any korean community sites but i think its pretty obvious what everyone thinks if you look at what media articles write about him. from representing korea as their starting #9 to going to jail for 4 years is quite the downfall. weve seen worse in the western world though. dani alves springs to mind off the top of my head

I wasn't going to post this until I saw it from a reputable source, I think Reuters is close enough.

The Arnault family, who control LMVH, are in advanced talks to purchase Ligue 2 side Paris FC, with Red Bull as a potential minority shareholder.

Reuters article
French billionaire and LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault has teamed up with energy drinks company Red Bull to buy a controlling stake in French second-tier soccer club Paris FC, the Arnault family office said on Thursday.

Agache, the Arnault family's holding company, and Red Bull have entered into exclusive negotiations with current owner Pierre Ferracci to buy a majority stake in Paris FC, with Red Bull seeking a minority holding, Agache said in a statement.

It did not provide financial details of the proposed deal.

A takeover of the French club would mark Arnault's latest foray into sports after LVMH signed a 10-year sponsorship deal with Formula One this month and sponsored the Paris Olympics.

ABC are reporting proposed ownership percentages of 55% for LMVH, 15% for Red Bull and the rest staying with the existing owner. To my knowledge this has not been confirmed yet.

Another billionaire buying a football club isn't particularly noteworthy, but this could have a significant impact on Ligue 1 if it comes to fruition. Many French clubs are facing bankruptcy over the Mediapro rights deal collapse, and PSG would no longer have a position of uncontested financial dominance.

Interesting, but it depends on their motivations as well

The Gulf State funders want their teams to be absolutely elite, and stick the money in to do that.

Not every billionaire in Europe wants to bleed money to do that, they may have different goals. Maybe making money in a sustainable way, maybe getting a reputation boost for having a Ligue Une club would be enough

Also financial rules have tightened subsequently so it’s harder to jump to that elite level nowadays through sheer financial muscle

Guess we have to see what they have planned

If Arsenal could keep 11 players on the pitch they’d actually have a shot at the league this season

uhhh Wednesday is Barca vs Bayern. That's gotta be a banger (fingers crossed)
Also the new format is bringing in some good games cause teams don't play the slow, careful approach first leg cause there is no second leg

Again with a Messimerizing performance:
Subbed in after 57 minutes at 2:2 his touch leads to 3:2 and then proceeds to do a flawless hattrick himself.
Sidenote: Suarez having 2 goals, 2 assists

@Pande, I think we can both just agree that John Brooks is maybe the worst ref in the entire Prem. Shocking performance from him.

I dont really care about Messi (or Ronaldo's) individual stats in those lesser leagues. The question is does their goals have an impact on the league placement of their respective clubs or is just is for cosmetic purposes?

Haha yeah, some funny calls. Penalty for Liverpool was correct, i liked the overturn as i thought was harsh as wtf Jones did not shoot he had 10 seconds to shoot and just didnt lol, sad we didn't get a pen, also thought we played very very well so im not to disappointed as we are competing and top 4 is the goal, 30 more games of playing like that should see us there comfortably.

Yeah first pen was stonewall. 2nd pen was maybe an argument for still going forward after the ball went through his legs but ultimately a correct call. Missed the pen on Trent's foul in the box. Salah's push from behind was arguably another pen call missed. Tons of 50/50 challenges that were called for no reason (Nunez at the end was an absurd call).

Yall looked solid, but maybe a little bit too reliant on Palmer. We basically put a midfielder on him the entire game to man-mark, usually Jones. Seemed to shut down a lot of your creativity and shut down your offense, didn't concede many big chances against yall.
