on the post thing, i havent even watched the games cause i dont really care about either teams lol, id prefer the bucks to win, but not enough to actually tune in. but the viewership is up from last year, but WAY down from 2019, and thats with the raptors (their market doesnt count toward the ratings) involved.

This is Giannis' league now. I'm also happy for the whole Bucks team. They built around Giannis and Khris and got the best reward possible. Gutted for CP3, might have been his last good chance at winning that damn ring. But he did everything he could. He also looked kinda gassed last night. Ayton being absolutely lost also didn't help, but that kid is still so young. He's gonna be a great player. Bucks defended insanely well, especially Jrue was excellent. Booker had not one single easy shot last night. Overall, I really enjoyed this season, even though something has to be done about the sheer number of games in a short span of time. Imho, it's unacceptable for a professional sports league to sacrifice the players' health for entertainment / money. In the long run, the league will suffer from it. Just from the top of my head: AD, Kawhi, Murray, Conley, Harden, Kyrie, all of them went down. (Streetclothes does go down every year, though.) Giannis also almost destroyed his knee. This has to stop. At least most players get a good rest before the next season, I'm a bit worried for the Olympic athletes. But being at the Olympics is also a once in a lifetime thing for some, so I totally get why they want to represent their country.

Dude is a dirty player, flopper, crybaby, and overall represents the worst of the NBA players.

Seriously though, how can the Lakers justify not making a counter offer to Caruso's 4-37 when they have full bird rights? I saw a few people arguing that they want clear books for 2023 free agency but by then Caruso would only have 2 years and 18 million at the most, an easily tradeable contract. Additionally given the top heavy nature of the Lakers roster and the fact that the Bulls have more guards on roster better than Caruso, the Lakers have a better more prominent role on a team with a better chance to win. They could have offered slightly less than the Bulls and it been a better offer to Caruso. Or made the contract structured descending, or with the same guaranteed money but a higher starting salary and a partial guarantee on the last season. All of which would make Caruso's contract in 2023 very unlikely to turn negative value. What this comes down to is that after years of not paying the luxury tax and raking it in, the Lakers ownership was not ready to pay such a hefty tax bill to keep a useful player when the team is a top contender for a championship this year. The Lakers only have the tax MLE and *maybe* whatever they can get back in a possible Schroder sign and trade to add players above the minimum. Losing Caruso at 9m/per year is plainly stupid and an example of cheaping out.

Knicks are kinda in the same boat. Their moves look like they want to be the strongest non-contender in a shallow East. Like those Hawks teams that would get eliminated by Lebron in the conference semifinals for 10 straight years.
