Clearly this should be refereed like professional fouls: - prevent a goal scoring opportunity = red and penalty - stop the ball going out too early = indirect fk and maybe a yellow for stupidity, depending on context Heres hoping that this is taken notice of and a common sense change to the laws is applied soon- However blaming the referee and var for not ignoring the rules is just annoying.

I just find it easier to keep the rule straightforward. I'm not particularly against having more room to pick the correct punishment, but the bottom line is that it never even should come to question whether a player outside the current 11 interfered with the play. Especially with the loud stadiums, mental pressure, time wasting and all that, we sometimes get really awkward stuff like Hazard vs the ballboy. I'd rather keep possibilities like that minimal whenever the more lax set of rules isn't making the game flow much better anyway.

I know its not perfect anywhere but imo its the worst in England - whats different there? The premier league refs official governing body they have (PMGOL) stated they set the bar very high to overrule any decision in the game, if it is not an OBVIOUS error they said they would not get involved, that is why the calls are shit like they are even with VAR active. Now this weekend it looks like they relaxed them tenfold but still got some wrong, even though imo this weekend was way better.

I have a bad feeling about Barcelona when Messi retires. He has been carrying the team alone (with Ter Stegen) since Neymar left.

It will be a couple of years, they have some time to work on their team. They're already bringing youngsters in the team like Frenkie de Jong. But yeah, they'll fall off but isn't that quite logical when the best player in the world retires? That would happen to any team. Look at what happened in Madrid :x

The first goal of Barca's match is a perfect example And yet it is by far the strongest league, or at least was until the last season, where the Premiere League probably was better. Sometimes I feel exactly the same like you do, but maybe our perceptions are just flawed.

It looks so simple, yet the way he controls it with his upper leg and how it perfectly lines up for the shot, no-one else does that. Most people just try to control the ball and end up with their backs to the goal and play continues from there. Somehow he manages to control it in an 180 degree angle and grants himself the time to release a pitch-perfect missile. https://streamja.com/OWme Also; <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="nl"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">50 - Lionel Messi has scored his 50th direct free-kick goal in his proffessional career (44 for <a href="https://twitter.com/FCBarcelona?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@FCBarcelona</a> and six for Argentina🇦🇷). Once he got the ball goal side you know it’s going in the back of the net.

Transfermarkt lists PL at 9 billion, La Liga at 6 billion. It's probably a horrible measure, for example Grenada is contesting the La Liga right now with total market value of some 35 million or something, but I can't really come up anything better to compare team strength past the top few that qualify to the European competitions.

English football has a shitload of money but most clubs are managed poorly so a lot of the money goes to waste. Then there's inflated market values for English 'homegrown' players to account for as well. I think the rivalry between both leagues is exciting though, but this year I only see Barça threatening the English clubs (again). Atletico could grind out some results, but Real Madrid is very poor since after they lucked some CL's.

Atletico could grind out some results, but Real Madrid is very poor since after they lucked some CL's. I think the homegrown bonus doesn't apply to transfermarkt directly, most homegrown players are just traded with way higher money than their listed value. I did some googling, but couldn't find much info on their calculation though, so I might be lost on this one. Otherwise I kind of agree, but I couldn't figure out any better even remotely objective metric than the transfermarkt overall. Something like poor management is really hard to assess - especially for bottom half of La Liga teams, which will get very little coverage most of the time.
