I think the uefa coefficients is the best metric we have. I mean the sample size isn't big enough to be conclusive, but it's the best we have.
And that has Spain being far ahead of England each of the years from 2011-2012 until 2017-2018, but 2017-18 and 18-19 are somewhat in England's favor. And it matches the impression I've gotten watching the teams - until two seasons ago, none of the English teams could match Barcelona or Real Madrid, whereas now if feels like only Barcelona can match Liverpool and City.

premier league is definitely the most exciting league because there are 6 power houses in it, Spain only has 3 (4 if you are generous and include sevilla which I definitely wouldnt) and Germany only has 1 (BVB not consistent enough since Klopps departure imo)

As a regular watcher of la liga I think the level has improved a lot since the times of Pep and Mourinho (Dark ages for the other teams when the TV rights distribution was extremely unbalanced to Barça and Madrid). Small teams can be very hard to beat now and they play like a team with a lot of discipline. In my opinion, Spain has better coaches in middle and low table clubs than the Premier league. If you add a lot of homegrown players you get very cohesive teams.
This season I'm impressed with Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Granada. Newly promoted teams (Granada, Osasuna and Mallorca) are doing very well and all of them got points against the top 3. I think people underestimate the level and competitiveness of Segunda división, but I think it is one of the best Tier 2 leagues alongside the Championship.
But I agree Premier league is the most exciting. Every week there are interesting matches to watch and I love it. And the top teams are dominating Europe again, so the level has raised a lot too. At production level Premier league is better in everything too. Sadly we are stuck with our federation vs Liga civil war for years. They are even fighting about which one controls the VAR. They should focus more in improving the league instead...

The problem with coefficient is just that it doesn't measure the whole league, only the teams that get to see European competitions. You could have the most horrid bottom half of the league and it would probably boost the coefficient if anything since the top teams could focus a bit more on the international competitions.
I do agree it's the nicest metric for most of the practical stuff, but it doesn't really measure how 15th ranked team in La Liga matches against similar team in PL.

Hell no. If we hire mourinho its a disgrace to Arsenal FC

Liverpool and Arsenal teaming up to remove the boring parts from the game where you dont score goals.
|
Van Dykes transfermarket value just went up like a 100 mil after this game. That's the conspiracy theory im going with..

the quality of the goals and the penalties in Liverpool vs Arsenal = SURREAL!!!

More goals in the match than in the penalty shootout, lol. That was an incredible match.

Sad we lost, but from the highlights, that was one hell of a match

what a freekick. first time hes actually put one in but wow

Had to get some sleep before the Liverpool - Arsenal was done and Arsenal was ahead at that point. There's nothing more hilarious than reading the Origi 90+4 equalizer on the score sheet next morning. That was almost inevitable at this point.

That Liverpool - Arsenal match O_O

Sad thing is, the starting 11 suggests Klopp doesn't even care and still wins ^^

You have to think about these things. If you have a fixture list where one team cannot be part of all the games, then you have to think about it. Hopefully it starts at one point, hopefully it starts now
Gotta love Klopp. Its about liverpool having too many games in December with club world cup and EFL

Kloppo is my favorite and probably best manager in the world right now <3

Who does he think he ultimately works for?
