England pissing me off a bit though, all before the games they were like "we will leave the pitch instantly if any racism occurs" and now they are playing well and scoring easily they do not want to leave? Way to blow everything out of proportion. This whole thing started from a "one steward heard a guy" type of case at Wembley. Now "crazy" racism and "nazi salutes". The stadium was completely silent for the most part and the english were the loudest. Maybe someone said something, but it is still a guy in a 20k crowd. I'm not sure about that. I saw footage of groups of fans giving nazi salutes and blatant monkey chanting. Its on video, its on audio etc. Its not a reflection on Bulgarian people as a whole and no-one thinks that (we still get this in England frequently) but any amount of racism is far too much. Even your team captain was trying to get your crowd to behave at half time. Yep I saw some people saluting in the area where a small group of hooded fans were situated... Probably part of some far right organization or something. They did their thing and left before the half time. Nothing "crazy" about the situation. I've seen much worse without game stoppages. England wanted to make a statement.
Even if was a small group, at the moment there is no evidence of that, Bulgaria needs to be punished. They won't be kicked out of international competition due to money lost from FIFA. But something needs to be done.

What evidence do you want ? It was literally a group of 50 people that left before the half time. No issues after that. FIFA wont ban Bulgaria because of money ? I'm sure that we hold them by the nuts with all of our money. Are we living in the same world ? As far as I'm concerned we barely have organized football (or anything for that matter), so whatever.

Personally I'd like to see something done about this stuff when it happens weekly in domestic leagues, both professional and amateur. Making an example of Bulgaria is a thing that could be done, and its probably right to some extent, but the stories you hear of racism ingrained into football systems throughout the world are shocking.
You hear about racism from the stands in Italy week in, week out and the pro game in England has had huge high profile cases.
If you're going to ban Bulgaria for this teams like Chelsea can't complain when they get kicked out of the Champions League for similar behaviour. Fans of my team (Forest) have been known to be horribly racist on occasion. Punishments need to be severe and the racist fans need their faces showing as the cause of the punishments.

Footballers as young as seven have experienced racist abuse at matches, a new anti-discrimination group has said.
The Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Football Forum (BFF) has begun collating grassroots experiences of discrimination from across the country.
Vice chair Ahmed Maravia, who runs a club in Leicester, said "little kids" often heard monkey chants and Islamophobic remarks at games.
Leicestershire FA said discrimination did not belong in football.
Mr Maravia, the chief executive of the Community Football Academy, said some of his under-14s once left the pitch in tears, despite winning, because of abuse.
'Just want to play' He said his players, who were predominantly Muslim, had been called the "P-word" and told - by opposing footballers, managers and coaches - they should be "blowing things up, not playing football".
Of course changes need to happen at the top of the game, but they need to happen all the way through the game and just because less public incidents are easier to ignore it doesn't mean they should be less of a priority.
So yeah, ban Bulgaria, but you also have to ban a whole lot of other teams from a whole lot of competitions.
Personally my priority would be trying to help the players in the amateur game who have no money, power, voice or recourse.

The president of the Bulgaria Football Union, Borislav Mihaylov, has resigned.
Bulgaria Prime Minister Boyko Borissov called for him to quit on Tuesday after the racist abuse of England players in the Euro 2020 qualifier in Sofia.
Monday's match, which England won 6-0, was stopped twice because of racist behaviour by home fans, which included Nazi salutes and monkey chants.
The BFU said the move "is a consequence of the recent tensions" but did not mention racism in their statement.
The statement said the tensions had created "an environment that is detrimental to Bulgarian football and the Bulgarian Football Union".
It added that "Mihaylov expresses his firm readiness to continue helping in the development of Bulgarian football in every possible way".
Earlier on Tuesday, the Bulgaria prime minister "strongly condemned" the fans' behaviour and called for Mihaylov to resign "immediately".
"After yesterday's shameful loss of the Bulgarian National Team and given the bad results of our football, I ordered to end any relationship with BFU, including financial, until the withdrawal of Borislav Mihaylov from the post," he added.
Before the match, Mihaylov had complained to Uefa about "unjust branding" after the build-up was overshadowed by fears England's players could be subjected to abuse.
The Vasil Levski Stadium was already subject to a partial closure for the match after Bulgaria were sanctioned for racist behaviour during Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kosovo and the Czech Republic.
Mihaylov, a former Reading goalkeeper, played at three World Cups for Bulgaria and has been member of Uefa's executive committee since 2011.
Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin said the "football family and governments" need to "wage war on the racists", after the abuse of England players.
Uefa told BBC Sport any action in response to Monday's events would have to follow on from a disciplinary committee, which in turn has to wait for a referee's report.
Anti-discriminatory body Fare has called for Bulgaria to be expelled from the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

Congratulations fellow Englishmen. You have been used in the Bulgarian election campaign.
BTW still no charges against England for thrashing every city they visit.

Finland took a decent 3-0 win over Armenia. The first goal was a bit shaky by the Armenian GK, but probably good job exploiting the GK's height in corner routine too. Later on Pukki party wrapped things up nicely. Pohjanpalo has been recovering nicely from some one and half years of injuries too.
Still two games to go, but this was a good step towards first ever Euro qualification. Good stuff.
It's in our own hands already, but Greece taking some points from Bosnia tonight wouldn't hurt at all either.

This Spain is so sad. The only player that played decently against Sweden and Norway was Fabian. The others... with players like Albiol in the main team, we are screwed.
|
Since when winning 6 of 8 games (with 2 draws) is a sad thing? Intermediate result achieved, no need for shiny playstyle.
Although I must agree, current version is just a mere shadow of what it used to be in 2010-2012

tbh I did think Spain's performance against Norway was one of the weaker I've seen from them. Norway played very well for Norway, but I don't think we're supposed to go toe to toe with you guys yet, and the game felt really even.

Canada just beat USA for the first time since 1985. Won 2-0. Canada is looking at their best ever and USA is heading quickly in the opposite direction. our federation is a fucking mess

US men's national team is a fucking joke. I hate watching them play
|
Getting rid of klinsmann/herzog was a wtf decision for me back then and still is. They made US football exciting to watch

Has the rise of MLS had any effect on the national team? You'd think long term it still should improve the quality of players even if the big names are currently foreigners.

We basically lost a generation. We have like 3 quality players between the ages of 20-30

Pogba out, maybe De Gea out - lucky Liverpool ManUtd going to be in the relegation zone after this weekend

Unless Liverpool does something stupid, I don't see how United can find away through Liverpool's defense. The best result that United could have hoped for (assuming no injury) is a 0-0 draw.
Realistically, I see this match going two ways: 1 - Liverpool scores in the first quarter of the game, and it ends up an embarrassment for the home team, and 2 - Liverpool plays cautiously and scores in the 2nd half and it ends up a 1-0 for the table leader.

"lucky" Liverpool?
You serious? :D This is a game #1 vs #12 I don't think they rely on injuries of their opponents
|
They don't rely but i am 100% everyone at Liverpool is happy to hear those news. Even if ManUtd is an easy opponent atm, it becomes even easier when their two best players dont play
|
Alisson's back vs Man U, so I don't see Man U scoring a single goal while I fully expect Liverpool to net at least 3

Liverpool have had a lot of luck this season and the past 18 months on their rise to the top. They have hardly any injuries, Allison injury for the first 8 games being the only big thing in the past 18 months. Salah Firmino and Mane play like every game unless Klopp rests them.
But alas it makes no difference vs this Yanited side, if they had Mourinho in charge i might say it would because they would park the bus and maybe scrape something, but Ole is not a good coach as proven so far and thus they will get slaughtered and many will call for his head after it.
