He’s Messi.
If anything he’d do better in City as it is than he would at Barcelona, they’re a more complete, well-drilled side. At Barca of the last few years he’s been covering a ton of systemic holes by virtue of his brilliance.
Even if he slows down a bit he’ll be able to play deeper and I can see him do that in the last years of his career.

One funny scenario would be to have Messi move to Juventus to chase the UCL with Ronaldo. Sounds like a bad movie plot or something.

I'd love it. Imagine how many more assists Messi would have with a killer like Ronaldo.

Whats with all these training camps the PL clubs are doing? Do they not understand the concept of a break?

3 points between the top 5 in the Championship

Think i fancy Brentford and Fulham for automatic spots with form and playstyle. Leeds and West Brom where literally 12-15 points CLEAR going into xmas period...its actually hilarious to watch Leeds choke AGAIN.

As a West Brom fan I am more nervous about Forest than Fulham, but Brentford are scary. I am amazed we are still top after our awful run. I think we have the best midfield in the division but we have struggled to score at times. I was hoping for more from Austin, and I have no idea why we signed Zohore.
And there is absolutely no way this match at Millwall should go ahead today.

Yeah the winds are nutty defo needs to be called off if games in the thick of it.

The wind at least helped dry the pitch. The ball didn't bounce in places early on because of the surface water. I think the game would have been postponed if it were not on Sky.

Good win though, back to a gap at the top. Baggies are boing boing again.

We have done well in tough games but struggled against the teams we would be expected to beat, such as Barnsley and Stoke. Thankfully everybody is dropping points this season

Lenglet score off a free-kick that shouldn't have been a free-kick Not sure if there wasn't a foul during Busquets goal too
|
And the referee gives 2 yellows cards (to one player, thus red card) for a single foul that wasn't even a foul. Really referee provoking players into little yellows is such an old cheat. Poor Betis

Yeah the milan derby was ridiculous. So many hits to the post as well as goals. Brozovic goal was beautiful. Eye catching cameos for Eriksen and Moses too.
Serie A is getting spicy, after Juventus lost to Verona Lazio have caught up. 3 teams within 1 point at the top. Inter v Lazio next match, Inter v Juventus in 3 games.
Leipzig and Bayern drew 0-0, Dortmund lost though. Gladbach had their game cancelled due to the winds. Still bugger all between the top 4 in the Bundesliga.
Tangent, I always felt that Victor Moses was underrated. He never really seemed to have the trust of his managers either while at Chelsea, on loan at Liverpool/Stoke. Was always restricted to cameos in the last 10 minutes and the only full season he had starting nearly every game Chelsea won the league.

24 goals vs English teams in 30 matches Messi has great numbers against Premier League sides. With two goals from outside the area versus United, Messi now has 24 total against English teams: Arsenal (9), Manchester City (6), Manchester United (4), Chelsea (3) and Tottenham (2).

Don't think he cares too much for big scary defenders TBH

While I do agree that Messi shouldnt have problems against English defenders you do have to understand the difference between facing English teams in CL and PL.
In the PL defenders are allowed to be rougher than in the CL... And also the refs are worse so you get fouled a lot more often. Just look how much guardiola has changed? In his first season he was naive and played Spanish football. Then he adapted and city are masters of fouling and roughing up play

It’s exciting to have some good European races, not a bad time to be an Inter fan too.
I think Moses is one of those relatively unlucky players, for whatever reasons that may be. Can’t remember hearing tales of him having a bad attitude or whatever in the past.
He just seems to have blossomed most as a wing back in a back 3/5 and shown his best form there.
Not many teams play that way, so that’s probably part of it, although he’s now reunited with Conte who’s shown that faith and plays that system too. Plus once he showed that form for Chelsea perhaps other managers have pigeonholed him as that kind of player, despite him being more versatile IMO.
He’s not the only unlucky player around, there’s not much room for a whole generation of Riquelme style 10s either.

Italy has still 3 teams in CL as well. Seems Serie A is making a comeback
Obviously La Liga and Premier League with 4 teams each still far and beyond. Then Bundesliga still slightly above Serie A with 3 teams each,at least in my opinion. I rate Bayern and Dortmund higher than Juventus and Napoli. And then France with Lyon and PSG
