Hopefully it doesn't cause problems for the race. The track is already fighting to avoid the chopping block as it is. Another cancel or even just long delays, and it's likely gone

Not that I think Otmar is particularly responsible for Renault's downfall. They sucked before him, and they'll continue to suck after. But he was a shit TP, and he's a shit human being who treats everyone around him like dirt. My sympathy is limited for this guy

Max will start from 6th but holy shit what a lap.

Alonso might have been toxic, but he never gave less than 100% on track for any team he's driven for. They went from kings of the midfield to backmarkers in just a few years with some really shortsighted driver and management decisions.

Piastri looks S tier; ever since McLaren got their car in shape, he beats Norris consistently. on Ham. level, easy. the next f1 multi world champ.
|
PIASTRI LEADS THE SPRINT!
Finishes P2 but still a great job
|
McLaren looking strong for the race; Norris is struggling yea but I believe it is because he had that massive accident there during 2020 still haunts him;
No one is talking about it but until now this weekend a Piastri is beating multiple world champions and talented would world champions, in his first year in F1. p2 in quali and P2 in sprint;
I expect him to be P3 tomorrow, that should be his ultimate goal at spa; would be great for his self esteem and the team going into the summer break;
If by the end of the season McLaren can get P3, they have dove their job; that remains to be seen as they have said there will be no more development this year, contrary to Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Mercedez.

Could've used some more rain
|
That was certainly.. a race. I'd even go so far as to claim it was definitively one of this season's races. Perhaps the best feature race on Spa of this year
Started getting a little bit interesting with the tease of rain, and then just "Nah".
|
There's a bit of Piastri vs Norris going on amongst my F1 friends and it's quite frankly the only thing keeping these last races interesting. So this race got boring very quickly, F Carlos Sainz and RIP my fantasy team.
|
a lot of overtakes in this race, that e send up being meaningless;
Nightmare for McLaren, Piastri out soon and Norris took a gamble that did not pay off;
Now it’s the summer break, and next race at the end of august is a standard one, zandoorf

unlucky final fix for piastri and he dnf's,,, at least strolls price went up
|
Not a fan of Zandvoort being the first race after the break tbh. Snooze track where the current big cars have no chance of overtaking. Much preferred Spa being the first track after the break, as long as it didn't rain.
Just look forward to Monza the week after I guess.

Man, that's such a shame Was really looking forward to seeing what he could do this weekend
|
Broke a metacarpal according the the press release. It's a much smaller and more delicate bone, so it might not be possible to fixate unlike Stroll. Pretty unfortunate timing because he'll almost certainly miss the next 3 races.

Leclerc sitting on a beach chair after crashing out
Ferrari broke him, again
|
Max P1, Lando P2.. Have you guys seen the trophy for this weekend? It's not going to survive the podium celebrations
What an amazing lap by Leclerc at the end of Q1. when everyone else going slower because of the rain, he managed to find enough time to bring it into Q2 while drifting into the last corner. I wouldn't say Ferrari broke him tho, his crash in Q3 was all on him.

Albon is doing it, right? ...
and i think Ricci is pretty fucked right?; he was supposed to level up his skill again, slowly but surely, but the thing is, with the injury, he might not have the time now.
