Lewis: "Verstappen is off Turn 20. He's off turn 12. Maybe turn 9?" 5 seconds later, black and white flag for Lewis for leaving track limits

I'm so incredibly split on this one. On one side, Alonso certainly didn't deserve that after such an incredible drive, and handing out 10 sec stop and go penalty half a day after the race is just fucked up. On the other hand, he should have been shown the meatball flag during the race (Alongside Perez those 7 laps he drove with a dangling end-plate)

Very unfortunate this.. E: Alpine is protesting the decision because Haas' complaint was supposedly handed in 24 min too late. I doubt anything comes from this but let's see.

Alpine won the review, Alonso gets the points back. Absolute shambles by the FIA though to have this happen.

Red Bull penalty for breaching the budget: $7M fine and 10% less development time over the next 12 months EDIT: AM also got a fine: https://twitter.com/chrismedlandf1/status/1586010870357770241?s=46&t=-Fo1_7natul-3hBOlC3Y1Q There's less info on exactly what Aston Martin did wrong, except that, apparently, 12 items were incorrectly excluded from the budget, and some of them included "wrongly reporting catering costs, tax credits, a new F1 simulator, wind tunnel fees and signing bonuses (among other things)"

Fine of ~3x the breached amount, and a reduction in wind tunnel time to neutralize any potential advantage gained in time. I do think that excess cap room should be able to able to be carried over for a maximum of 3 years. It takes almost a whole year to even figure out how much budget you've actually used, so having 2 years to spend the excess seems reasonable. Makes keeping a bit of headroom a little more lenient, and you don't have to push the budget cap so hard knowing that every dollar you don't spend is lost forever.

Next time, just let Ricciardo start with a 10 second penalty and watch him grab P1

Kept waiting for the RB tires to fall off, but they never did. Merc definitely should've split strategies though, instead of going one stop, and slightly shorter one stop. I don't think Russell had anything to lose from trying that.
