Not like Red Bull who did give up the lead for better tires. E: I love these cool down room talks btw

Damn, that's a shame. The rumors over the past few weeks seems to have been true. RB wasn't willing to give up a 50% ownership to Porsche, and the deal went through. That said, the same rumors are suggesting that Honda has shown a strong interest in resuming the official partnership with RBR (Not that they ever left in the first place, since they're still making the RB powertrain, they're just not getting any recognition for it. Which is a pretty ridiculous PR loss when they're literally making the WCC and WDC winning engine..)

It might not be that far off, bar bad strategy decisions, and Ferrari usually sail straight when it comes to racing in Italy. Because it’s more personal for them than races outside of Italy. Ferrari makes more money than any other team in F1 regardless of what the result in the constructors championship

Those McLarens seems fast, and they only have George between them and P1 (Let's face it, Ferrari is going to Ferrari Leclerc up). Max is a contender of course. He's going to come up as a rocket from behind too

Ferrari will run away from lap one til first pitstop, Leclerc will pit early because of too much deg. Verstappen will be in the lead til he pits, 4 laps later. He'll wind up behind leclerc, Leclerc will burn his tires, Ferrari will call him in for a 2nd stop in a race that clearly favours a 1 stop, giving track position for max to win without even letting leclerc fight to retain the spot. Leclerc finishes 3rd, and Sainz runs an anonymous race to 2nd. Ferrari fans leave in tears.

So basically Italy 2018 situation where Kimi started from the lead but ultimately lost because Ferrari pitted him a bit early due to degradation and Hamilton ended passing him at the end because Ferrari were forced to either leave Kimi out on worn out tires at the end (which they did) or pit him again and give up 2 positions to the Mercedes cars. I guess the difference here is Sainz hopefully wouldn't spin out at the start like Vettel did and would thus end up actually being a factor in the race. I could totally see that happening. In other news it looks like Colton Herta probably isn't going to get the Super License exemption Red Bull/Alpha Tauri were trying to get for him. It hasn't been confirmed one way or the other yet but at least half of the teams are against it and the FIA's language when talking about the issue makes it seem like they aren't going to allow it to happen since it would blow up the whole junior ladder into F1. That would mean Gasly's staying at Alpha Tauri next year and as such the Alpine seat would still be open. I'm curious to see who gets it. Ocon wants Mick to have it but I'm not sure Alpine want that.

At the very least, IndyCar should be worth more points than F2, if we only take skill levels into context. Also, every TP who is against this today is going to have their feet burned next time this situation occurs for a different team. Because it's going to keep occurring. In a year, it'll be Alex Palou and McLaren Edit: It's also an incredibly bad look for teams to try to block new drivers coming into F1. I don't care about whatever shenanigans teams gets up to to get a 1-up over their competitors, but fucking over driver's careers for an incredibly small short-term win is not on the "things that are ok to do" list. But I'm not at all surprised to see that it's the usual assholes, again
