German clubs maybe, Man City? Obviously not Madrid as they are set and Barca would publicly crucify him

Gotta feel for Monaco fans.. Bernardo Silva, Bakayoko, soon Lemar

German clubs? What are you smoking? You are aware that the German transfer record (to a German team) is at less than 50m? Not even Bayern is interested in spending more. And we aren't even talking about the wages. Bayern would be the only team who could probably afford Neymar wages, and they certainly would never do it, because it would destroy their entire team wage structure. Just look at why the Alexis deal fell through, or why Kroos left back then.

No way German clubs could afford Neymar. Other than PSG I think maybe City and Chelsea can afford him. United probably as well but don't think they want to spend this kind of money.
On another note, if you look at the top transfers Ronaldo has got to be the best value in terms of goals per dollar. Basically Neymar would have to score 3 times the number of goals to match Ronaldo's value. Just an interesting way to look at it :D

Not if you count inflation... And (sadly) you should count marketing value more than performance.

I hate that they are whining about this so much. Barca and Real get great players from other leagues all the time. Only that they pay way less because just their name has so much pulling power. Basically what they are whining about is that they get compensated so well for losing a player, it is ridiculous. I am waiting for the day I am bullied by someone trying to give me 200 mio.

LaLiga is making a joke out of itself...
When the clubs are forced to put those release clauses in all contracts, stop bitching when somebody is really making use of it. And don't even try to bring the FFP excuse... It is up to the UEFA to enforce this, and yes we know that they wont do it because they suck, but then LaLiga should go after the UEFA... And not go completely rogue here.
|
|
This makes no sense to me. How can La Liga block this? They have nothing to say about contracts and how they're enforced.
|
So Barca and Real can go ahead and pay shit stupid money for players but other clubs can't? Way to go La Liga

The problem is the Qatar/Neymar business where PSG doesn't pay anything at all and just signs Neymar on a free transfer. This won't work for LaLiga and it is stupid, because current rules don't prohibit it, but it is not about different standards for Spanish/non spanish teams.

I have heard and read from several places that both Real and Barca are supported by government through money or influence many times. Where is the difference there?

Yeah I read that too, see this: www.theguardian.com However at least in some cases it appears to have been illegal and had to be repaid, so they didn't get away with it and why should Qatar/PSG?

The difference is what PSG is doing is legal. Against sports fair-play ? Yes. But not illegal. They won't be punished for that.
Also, apparently they're trying to sign another big name, this time with their own money. Mbappé or Sanchez. And again, they'll respect the FFP. The question is what will the UEFA do to fix the loophole? Forbidding buyout clauses? Because the players are allowed to make money the way they want (as long as they pay taxes ofc), so there's no stopping other clubs doing the same through third party companies.

I agree with this, I think LaLiga has no case, but I think it is okay that they question if this is a legal loophole and if it should be closed if it is. And since there has never been a situation like this before and it isn't comparable to outside investors giving money to the club/creating stupid sponsorships, there is no double standard.

Yeah Chelsea are not like that. City might have been paid by their owners self sponsoering them which is supposedly against the rules but again UEFA don't really care. FFP hasn't been followed properly, when they finally said to Man City your not following, all they did is fined them money and made them instead of have a 23 man Champions league only allowed to register 18 players lol
