This is exactly what Athletic Bilbao did when Bayern tried to pay Javi Martinez's buyout clause. Pretty sure it's different. La Liga accepted the money from Bayern to pay the buyout clause. I never said they didn't. The story was that Athletic refused to accept the money.

Yes Basque country is very insular and clanny that way. And clubs there have a similar outlook.

Fuck, ligue 1 is so over. It was our only quality before Lyon's dominance, having a real championship with unpredictability and we gained some when they bought a stadium. Qataris ruined it.. Now we're just shit league with a state playing football manager for whatever reasons.

Damn it, Utrech is the most lucky team I have seen in a while. Not winning, playing awfully, being clearly the worse team and yet they advance. FML.

Now I'm pretty sure Courinho goes to Barca for like 120m or something. Transfer record smashed twice in 1 window lol.

Yeah, I do worry for Liverpool now. Barca splashing around with 220 million is going to upset someone's roster plan.

Saudi Arabia or UAE should buy OM as an escalation of the conflict with Qatar.
Did la liga react like this because they feel threatened by a possible rise of ligue 1?

Oh shit, Hoffenheim vs Liverpool. Gogo Hoffenheim!

Did la liga react like this because they feel threatened by a possible rise of ligue 1? OM was sold last summer to an American billionaire but he's here to make money, filthy casual.
We also have Rennes which belongs to a rich businessman (3x Abrahamovitch's fortune) but the first time he spent big, close to world record transfer fees, he bought terrible players and never spend again.
At the same time we have Amiens which reached ligue 1 for the first time in history and launched a gofundme to buy temporary stands.

going to PSG to try to win CL qualifies as a bigger challenge imo.
|
even if he won cl with paris, no one would acknowledge hes at messi/ronaldo level. one good tournament doesnt make you the best in the sport, years of consistency against strong opposition does epl and la liga have that whereas bundesliga and ligue 1 do not. i dont expect monaco to beat psg this year at all so...
