Clearly, its the bias of the referees, FIFA and whatever excuses a demented fanboy can think of being at work to ensure the Austrians will lose.
Or it has been a long season, the players are tired. And vacations

Stopped playing? When? I saw they playing right to the end and it ended 3-0.
Were they 3 magical passes from messi?

Did you even watch the game? For almost one hour Austria played great then disappeared, Brazil got multiple 5v3 4v2 which did not happen once before. I think the coach may have said something like"give your best for at least one hour to improve our teamwork then take it easy, I know the season have been long, don't injure yourself before holidays etc etc".

Yea don't injury yourself for the very important holidays. Kek. After all kicking BR players could have injured an Austria player.

But some players like ze roberto who quit last year were so much better than the norwegians that retired 15 years ago, not really balanced. :D
about time I was 11-12 back then. Still remember when Norway beat Brazil 4-2 at a friendly a year before the world cup. I used to hate norway so much when I was a kid because of that. Then during the WC I was 100% positive we were going to sweep you... I was already pissed that by the end of the match we were leading by 'only 1-0'. To my surprise you scored twice in the last 5-10 min, one of the goals was a penalty that it took a day for Brazilian tv to grab the tv angle that showed it really was a penalty. By the time the ref called it we didn't have that angle and it seemed the norwegian player just dove. oh boy we were raging hard.

I've only read reports on the match. As its a pre WC friendly, my assumptions is that both sides have agreed on the tactics played and other conditions before the friendly to help Brazil with their WC readiness

Bruno Fernandes, Gelson Martins and William Carvalho have rescinded with Sporting today. We're talking about three Portugal internationals with a total market value easily over 100M€. This is after Rui Patrício and Podence have rescinded a week or so ago.
Edit: News that Acuña, Battaglia, Bas Dost and Mathieu will be next, by tomorrow the latest.

is Bruno de Carvalho downright killing the club?

There's still a chance that Bruno de Carvalho leaves the club and the players back down but it's unlikely that he'll leave by his own foot. He's illegally blocked the other governing bodies from organizing a no-confidence vote - literally by not letting the representatives enter the stadium to gather the necessary paperwork.
Yesterday Bruno de Carvalho dared the players to rescind, threatening them with difamation lawsuits. The guy's a supervillain.

maybe he's been a lifelong porto/benfica supporter who thought the scottish model of two-team dominance was preferable

I'm not a lawyer so hard to say. From what I've heard from lawyers I'd say over 50% and there have been cases of players successfully terminating for much less. I mean the president has repeatedly insulted the players in public and private; he created a climate of conflict against the players which resulted in the attack on their training ground; the club failed to protect the players even during a time when there were threats on the squad; there's evidence the attackers had help inside the club in evading the police after the attack; and after the attack the president suggested it was the players fault because they shouldn't reply back to insulting fans after games. These are just the objective facts, beyond that any reasonable person can judge that Bruno de Carvalho is a raging mad man.
It's just inconceivable to me that the courts would rule in Sporting's favor. This behavior from an employer would not be acceptable in any other work environment and neither should it be in football.

Thank you for your answer. I'm not a lawyer so I have no clue about law, especcially Portuguese law but I hope this goes through

Any chance UEFA or some player associations might get involved? You'd think a self destructing team isn't beneficial for most parties.
