And despite being European Champions, I would not rate Portugal that highly. It's still a mystery to me how they won the tournament after starting with 3 ties in the group phase tbh.

To me, on paper, Germany Brazil France Spain all look stronger than Belgium.

Yeah that's probably fair. We would still be disappointed though. This is our best football generation in a long time/for a long time to come.
Then they were undone by a moment of Messi magic (the pass to Higuan's goal). 1-0 down, they just ran out of ideas and fizzled out. Such a pity. I would chalk their defeat due to poor coaching.

Don't want to burst bubbles or make you lot feel uneasy, but yea now I understand how he won the adidas ball... people can just see things my eyes can't, lol!

Because I pointed up the ridiculousness of attributting to messi, a pass actually made by di maria that was deflected and ended up in Higuain's way for him to score? I see...

How many goals did messi ever score in WC knock-out stage by the way? You probably know, it's 0.

We are europeans after all, we don't care. Well, I don't give a fuck about the euro too tbh, the only match I really saw from 2016 was the final and what a waste.
And Argentinians have been the kong of international football, that's not bad performance either if you compare to a team like France or even better, Austria.
Hopefully this time, they won't be it as I don't see by what miracle they will manage to get futher the 1/4 (which considering their play would already be great for them).Messi can make them win a clutch match but not two.

So NBC and Amazon are essentially the sole US providers now...?

Amazon has netted a package of rights to English Premier League soccer games for its Prime Video streaming service, a major move into U.K. premium sports rights by the U.S. online giant. The deal runs for three seasons from 2019.

The agreement gives Amazon a package of 20 matches per season from the league. The company said it would make the games available as part of its current Amazon Prime subscription deal. The other remaining package of rights has been picked up by telco BT, which will play the matches on its BT Sport service.

Pay-TV giant Sky has for years been the home of Premier League games in Britain, which are a cornerstone of its business. BT has also joined the fray in recent years and, with Sky, had already sealed deals for the majority of the EPL games between 2019 and 2022. Sky has 128 games per season, and BT has 52.

Two of the seven packages of rights available had been left unsold in that last round of deal-making, with the EPL reportedly failing to get its original asking price. Amazon has now stepped in and scooped up one of those tranches of rights. Specifically, Amazon gets 10 games over one of the Premier League’s busy public-holiday periods, and 10 during one of the league’s program of midweek fixtures.

“The Premier League is the most-watched sports league in the world,” said Jay Marine, vice president of Prime Video in Europe. “Over these two December fixture rounds, Prime members will be able to watch every team, every game, so no matter which Premier League team you support, you’re guaranteed to see them play live on Prime Video.”

“We welcome Amazon as an exciting new partner and we know Prime Video will provide an excellent service on which fans can consume the Premier League,” added Richard Scudamore, the league’s executive chairman.

Its only 20 games per season and very unlikely they will get any big games to air.

Some PL teams interested in Shaqiri after Stoke got relegated. Any value in him?

He has always stood out because of the profile, but I've never figured out whether he's actually a good player.

he's good enough to be a starter for most teams and a rotation player for all teams, imo. going purely on ability not on preferred style of play or whatever, iunno about that.

Reading fb commentary on a Liverpool fan Page, and it's funny how they're unhappy about him. Possibly butthurt cuz he rejected Liverpool then when they were crap, and chose Bayern. Who wouldn't? Liverpool fans now want big signings like Lamar fekir Werner etc, it's a joke because 2 of their 'fringe' signings in ox and Robertson actually stood out the most.

In the games I've seen him play, he was quite a threat. But he can't do everything on his own, especially when his teammates were not as good, and if he had to make magic while chasing lost balls. Given a good team, I'm confident his talents can be well utilized.

I think shaqiri is good enough to be a starter, probably OK with being on the bench on rotation(like ox), and best of all cost so cheap. Its a no brainer acquisition for any team.

you mean a no-brainer? And I agree, I think hes a good value signing for sure, if he doesn't work out you have at the very least a solid Squad player that is still only 26 and a lot more versatile then say.. err Danny Ings. And if he works out well bonus.

Germany playing with what I feel is their absolute best lineup. Hope they play well so Löw won't field Özil.

So far they were looking very comfortable. Hummels has looked as if he was the only defender we need. But I'm still worried about Neuer, he hasnt done anything wrong yet, but it looks to me that every small action looks only 90ish% controlled and not 100%. But maybe it is a case of confirmation bias.

Unfortunately my stream just crashed

edit: Stream is back, Hummels not so much.

Come on, Ozil is better than Draxler, at least under the German shirt.

This really went downhill with every minute in the second half. I'm a little bit clueless if I should be worried,
