Also, why did they trade Collins to the Browns? He ask Belichick for too much money? Per Schefter (not gonna dig up the tweet), he wanted Von Miller money.

Yes and no. Peyton Manning was the best QB in the league in the first half of 2014, then mysteriously died in like November never to recover. We can say it was the neck stuff, but his arm went from Adequate to horrific in like 2 weeks.

I'm still livid about the FSU penalty that cost us the game. Fining the school $20,000 because Coach Fisher publicly commented on how fucking awful the call was is icing on the cake.
They said it was an illegal block. It wasn't. They said it occurred 10 yards from the line of scrimmage but they applied the penalty at the line of scrimmage so there's a bonus 10 yards. They called unsportsmanlike conduct on an assistant coach for yelling at refs - He wasn't even near a ref nor speaking animatedly.
We got fucking robbed. They called back a 60 yard run that put us in the redzone and tacked on 10, then 10 extra for fun, then 15 just for shits and giggles.
Fucking robbed.

Check out the holds and no call on the PI during the Nebraska vs Wisconsin game. We had the game besides those if our play calling was up to snuff, but that would have helped for sure in the OT. Talk about being robbed.
Collins got traded to the Browns. That's a personal insult.
|
Sounds like Collins and the Pats wanted to move on, he was't going to get the money he wanted, so the Pats let him go early. That being said, sending him to the Browns, thats just cold.

Collins got traded to the Browns. That's a personal insult. I wouldn't dare say we're the only team to get fucked by officiating ever. But this is without precedent in my memory and the ACC has never been known for good refs.
They made sure we wouldn't win. It was disgusting.

There's precedent for that. I remember a few years some offensive lineman holding out and Belichick traded him to one of the shitty Florida teams. It might have even been the year the Pats won their last Super Bowl.
IMO, give him the MVP if he gets the Browns 1 win. 2 and he's going straight to the Hall of Fame.

andrewlt, I know that story you're talking about, but that's not what probe1 is talking about.
They have their narrative and they are sticking to it Probe1. Same way will be said after the OSU vs UM game. I wouldn't be surprised to see OSU, Bama, UM, and Clemson in the CFP. I'm hopinh Nebraska can crash the party though by beating OSU and then UM in the championship game. Or at worst, lose the game and still get invited. A 2 loss team would definitely get in since the rest of the field is pretty bleak. Washington might be the only team that can keep 2 teams from 1 conference in the CFP.

It was in reply to the other posts about Collins. Probe1 just sneaked a post in while I was typing!

I had to say it. It doesn't make me feel better but sitting here fuming in my head won't go away if I don't.

The Big 10 refs seem to have forgotten what a PI is.

If you told me last year or at the start of this season that Bill traded Collins to the Browns for 3rd round pick, I'd be pissed. But Collins is either not healthy, motivated, or maybe just not that good this year. His coverage, which was great previously, has been poor and his angles have been terrible. Asking for Von Miller money is crazy when he puts up nowhere near that kind of production. Add in Elandon Roberts rise and the trade with the Lions I can understand it, get the 3rd rounder now instead of a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2018.
Pats D is definitely mediocre this year, but Collins didn't exactly help in the playoffs last year...

Logan Mankins?
Mankins was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 26, 2014 for tight end Tim Wright and a 4th round draft pick in the 2015 NFL Draft after refusing to take a pay cut.
