There is a good chance the lakers win too many games to keep their top 5 protected draft pick, which would go to the Suns in the Nash deal, leaving them with just the Rockets first round pick from the Lin trade, which is top 14 protected.
I don't know that the Lakers are going to be in the bottom five teams out of Boston, Indiana, Utah, Charlotte, Minnesota, New York, Detroit, and Philadelphia. Right now they are the 6th worst team by record.
Meanwhile the top 16 records are insane, with the east leading Raptors sitting at 6th over all.
Golden State 18 2 Memphis 17 4 Portland 17 4 Houston 16 4 LA Clippers 15 5 Toronto 16 6 San Antonio 15 6 Atlanta 14 6 Washington 14 6 Dallas 16 7 Cleveland 13 7 Chicago 12 8 Phoenix 12 11 Sacramento 11 11 New Orleans 10 10 Milwaukee 11 12

Huh. If that record list is right New Orleans is one win away from saddling into the Eight seed. (11-10 is technically better than 12-11!)

dwight always got so much shit from everyone. unfortunate.
watching wiggins play his best game of his career so far though, pretty active on defense as well as on the boards. reports of him being sick recently were probably true.

Gg, that's terrible news for Rox and Nba. My understanding is once it gets to this point there's no coming back. The cartilage is basically gone and never coming back?

Can anyone post something g confirming a cartilage issue?
If it is cartilage he will probably need micro fracture surgery. To my knowledge, they drill a bunch of small holes in the kneecap and some combination of stem cells and other stuff forms new cartilage that isn't as strong as the old stuff. It's what put down McGrady and is especially bad for basketball player because of the pounding it takes on their knees. It's not a death knell but it's certainly a harbinger of a shorter career.

His "bone on bone" is not the serious kind. Not even what Clowney has. Dwight's bone on bone is his knee cap, which is a non weight bearing portion of the knee. The only time that area behind the knee cap is stressed is with stairs, jumping, and deep squatting. The bone on bone condition that ends careers is the tibiofemoral joint or the weightbearing portion of the knee. In physical therapy we strengthen the quads and hip muscles and improve muscle flexibility to balance out and stabilize the forces around the knee. You can have bone on bone there and be fine if your quad strength and control is good and your hip/core strength is good. We can't do anything about bone on bone in the weightbearing portion of the knee which is why microfracture is often used on appropriate sized cartilage defects or lesions. Hope this helps.
hopefully above poster is correct...

Marc J. Spears: I get the impression by his play tonight on both ends that James Harden is tired of all the Klay Thompson talk.
wait...there was a narrative that klay is better than harden? :|

No matter how bad the celtics play this year, at least I can still laugh at the Lakers and Knicks.

boston's not even that bad...

Boston has some good players. Sullinger and Olynyk aren't a disaster 90% of the time like the Knicks and Lakers players.

boston been tanking for a while though
