the bulls are not forcing him to play. they probably want to save him for the playoffs, while being responsible to rose as a person.. this is a basic level of decency that some fans don't get.
Fans expect the athletes making this money to be 'giving it all they've got' for lack of a better expression. The money generated is in large part because fans want to see athletes do unbelievable things, knowing that the athletes are risking things to make the feats happen.
It's a basic level of decency for a labor worker to be compensated for the risk he is undertaking, and the athletes are getting that. Not a whole lot of horror stories coming out about ex-NBA players, Rose needs to shut his fucking mouth.

Are the sixers even going to score 50 points this game?

Rose's comments are on the knife edge of being completely reasonable or prickish. Seeing that, it's best not to draw conclusions.

You don't need to decertify to remove a salary caps, it is only a necessary maneuver to challenge a league protected-monopoly status, which the NBA does not officially have in legislation, only in Appelate Court precedence. Only the MLB has federal Anti-trust protection.
Why would you accuse her of sound bytes? Her sentiment is incredibly unpopular because the NBA has already managed to co-opt the term salary cap into the narrative of competitive balance. She's stating a fact. Any consideration of your points one through three is conceding that you are negotiating in a salary cap world. A preset percentage of revenue assigned as a labor cost is, by its very definition, a salary cap.
You can grow the pie, you can increase the percentage of your slice of pie but you'll never get the slice of pie you're worth in a pie-cap world.
Edit: the pie things not totally true, labor can have such a high percentage of revenue that the business becomes unprofitable or untenable.
This is entirely true. Like I said, however, she represents all of the players. In a non-pie world everyone knows Lebron makes more, but its not clear that Joe Harris and Lou Admunsen do not make less. Look, I like the idea of a totally free market NBA system. Owners don't like it because it means winning saps profits. The real question is why players consistently vote for a such a system. I believe the answer is because 50%+1 is actually better off.

The problem is, the players don't care about a competitive league; they care about making their money and winning.
The owners care about maximising their investment/profits and winning (mostly--there's always a Maloof or Sterling).
As always this is a fight over money but no one ever cares or mentions the most significant stakeholder: the fans. The NBA doesn't exist without chumps like us that stump up for merchanside, league pass tickets etc etc.
I'd be happy to see the cap raised exponentially, rookie wage scales and max player salaries removed. But above all the cap needs to remain at a reasonable level to give ALL the teams a level playing field from the get-go.
But we've had this argument a thousand times; I'm hardly saying anything new and I get a lot of people disagree with me.

It' so hard to see Philly winning 10 games this year.
They'll be lucky to have two by Christmas.

Holy mother of god is that an NBA team out there? At one point the score was 54-14 in the Mavs game.

Lol... if the Kings lose this...

Or in Rose's case he might have it, but he's saving it, because he doesn't want to be sore in his future meetings.

Currently being outscored by 44 on only 2 more shots taken and 2 more FTs attempted by the Mavs.
